If you're visiting Golden, this is a must do! Leo is so knowledgeable and a really lovely person, operating a beautiful tour in a great country setting. My boyfriend and I visited a few days ago and got a private tour and absolutely loved it! The bison are just spectacular to see and his love of them is clear - thankyou so much Leo! :)

We were very fortunate to book in for an Alpaca Walk for our family of 4. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that Julene is passionate about her animals and the land. We enjoyed every moment of our 1.5 hour walk, learned a lot about the alpacas and smiled from start to finish. Julene was very patient as we sauntered, took tons of photos and did not feel rushed at all. It was a real treat and well worth it!

Flying U Ranch

This was my first time back since the ownership changed and we had a great time. As usual, beautiful scenery and the wranglers were amazing. The riding really pushes you to your limits and it is amazing to be able to go on these unguided trips. It's truly unique and I've been to other ranches, but always come back! My first horse was a bit testy for my horseback riding level and they were very helpful with tips and set me up with a lovely new horse. Not that I didn't like my first horse, but he was a bit too much horse for me! The food was very good and the accomodations had some nice updates like new mattresses and the cabins were better insulated - the wood stove keeps you nice and warm. The trails were much better marked than on previous visits. Also, nice to have the boat and kayaks by the lake. I'd like to especially thank Dave, the superwrangler, he was just awesome!!

Historic O'Keefe Ranch

O'Keefe Ranch was founded in 1867 by Cornelius O'Keefe. His family lived on site for 110 years before it was opened as an historic ranch, meaning it still houses one of the most complete collections of one family's stuff (from the Victorian and Edwardian eras) in all of the province. Today O'Keefe Ranch is operated by a non-profit society and is a registered charity. Come visit us during our open season from May to October - stroll along the boardwalk, visit our original buildings (set up as they were more than 100 years ago!), visit the Greenhow museum, and go say hello to our many farm animals.

Spending the day in the Vernon area we decided to visit. I must have misread the website as I thought that there was an admission charge. Actually it is free with a donation available. Walked around and enjoyed the sights. It was a great place to spend a few hours in our day.

Desert Hills Ranch

Reviewed By renee560 - Merritt, Canada

My husband and I went to buy plants. There was a great variety of everything from trees to bedding plants, hanging baskets, a variety of succulents. The greenhouse was full and outside there were trees and plants everywhere. The staff was extremely helpful too. There is a petting zoo for all ages. It had rained and was very muddy, just wear appropriate footwear if it has rained. We will probably go back for more. Highly recommend this for a family outing.
