As the gateway to Costa del Sol, Torremolinos is a modern city preserving the great charms of the Andalusian tradition. Here visitors enjoy more than 300 sunny days every year, comfortable temperatures (avg. 19ºC/66ºF) and 7km of beaches along the sparkling Mediterranean. Away from the sea and sand, travelers can explore the old fisherman’s district of “La Carihuela,” or sample the city’s cuisine – including regional favorite Pescalto Frito (fried fish) – in hundreds of restaurants and bars.

This Neo-Mudejar style building is located in the middle of the ugly buildings close to Bajondillo beach. It was built in 1925 for a family that had an important part in the sugar cane business.

A pleasant, though touristy, street lined with shops, bars and cafes.
Great shopping experiance with a range of pubs bars food restaurants, nut shops, gyms etc. Enjoyed the walk around and testing the free nuts on offer before we bought, locals are friendly.

This Picasso centrepiece on the roundabout makes me smile every time I see it. It's a feelgood sculpture and reminds us to be happy.

When we first arrived in Torremolinos, Spain (this is the holiday break area of Costa del Sol) we were pleasantly greeted by this welcoming statue, setting the tone for the relaxed atmosphere that we were going to be enjoying for the next several days. It was a delight to pass by it many times, coming and going to our nearby hotel Sol by Melia. It is a great landmark, very pretty with flowers surrounding the well kept grounds around it. Thanks to the city of Torremolinos for adding a bit of joy for it's visitors!
