One thousand acres on Lake Oconee includes large 2,000-year-old effigy with viewing tower and interpretive centers with restrooms, 15 miles of educational hiking/biking trails with displays on history & wildlife with viewing tower, 12 miles of technical biking trails, park, boating, beach, camping, fishing, WMA, archery, two parking lots and various events throughout the yea.
Great hidden gem. We went to see the effigy but was very surprise at how much this park area has to offer. From archery targets, trails, educational placards, great wildlife, to a great viewing tower. It is free to visit the effigy and trails. If you pay a nominal fee you can enter the adjacent park with picnic areas, swimming, camping and even a boat ramp.

These folks were very accommodating and extremely friendly! Oh, and they were much less cost than the nearby competition. We rented both a pontoon and 2 jet skis

They were over-seeding and heavily watering. So the course was “cart path only”. This made for a long day. Over a five hour round. But it is so beautiful. Especially the back with lakes on eight out of nine holes. I did not score well. No length off the tee with virtually no roll at all. The ball would hit in the fairway and splash. It also seemed that every walk was uphill both ways. I still had a fun day with our foursome celebrating my friends 70th Birthday I look forward to playing this course again when it is not “cart path only”.
