Kayak, Canoe, and paddleboad rentals in Historic Ashtabula Harbor! Enjoy miles of river, an endless laskeshore, and multiple beaches. We offer sunset tours. We leave our launch and head out behind the breakwall or to the lighthouse as the sun sets.
This is such an easy way to have an amazing day on the river. Rent kayaks, hydrobikes, or paddle boards or even launch your own kayaks with a helpful, cheery staff. They keep their property very clean. I wish there was a sign by the main road to advertise where they are located.

We rode 54 miles (27 down/27 back) of the trail. There was a good amount of shade along the smooth paved trail. The day was extremely hot and we stopped at "Shannon's Mini Mart" along the trail to hydrate with extra water. We checked into a Bed & Breakfast close to the trail head in Ashtabula and loved the convenience of staying so close, when we finished the ride. The section in which we had to share the road with traffic was not bad at all and we even had to stop to let an Amish horse & buggy cross in front of us! We enjoyed the peaceful wooded scenery and the trail itself was fairly level and made pedaling not too strenuous. We saw signs showing that the trail is also available for horseback riding during nice weather, and snowmobiling in the winter.

Others have written about this pleasant little park’s virtues and vices (admittedly, we didn’t have the occasion to notice most of either, since we spent only a short time there in the course of an otherwise unrelated trip) so I shall only add that if you are a bird/animal lover, you might be interested to know that there is a pond, protected by an unobtrusive metal fence, FULL of various species of ducks, geese, even swans, and other waterfowl enjoying themselves in a protected space for them. They apparently feel safe there, since they exit the pond at will and we almost hit a duck strutting nonchalantly across the park road, so drive carefully! One can buy bird feed from coin- operated vending machines wherewith to sustain our feathered friends. This park was a high point of our drive.

Great lakefront beach. Close to home for us. Nice bathrooms. Snack stand available. Nice boardwalk. Nice sandy beach, although the waterfront is rather rocky. Nice friendly staff at the snack stand. Picnic tables and plenty of parking.
