Aberystwyth Golf Course is a 6119 yards, Par 70 course that will not only give you an enjoyable round of golf, but the scenic views will stay with you always. Aberystwyth is blessed with stunning views over Cardigan Bay. From Snowdonia and the Lleyn Peninsula to the Preseli Mountains in Pembrokeshire, there is hardly a comparable view from any golf course, anywhere. Aberystwyth was one of the courses designed by the legendary six times Open Champion, Harry Vardon, an all time ‘golfing great’.

Walk among free-flying butterflies in a luxuriant tropical display. Hundreds of butterflies as well as giant caterpillars, beetles and leaf insects. Outside there is a well-established native butterfly garden. Free guided tours are available. Run by biologists.
Sad to read some negative reviews here saying it’s overpriced and too small. When you read the information within the butterfly house about the extensive and fascinating work which the team have put into developing the necessary habitats for these butterflies, which only live for days, it’s incredible to appreciate the decades of work that has gone into the butterfly house. There were many beautiful butterflies, and just as interesting were the huge range of exotic plants cultivated to create just the right environment for them. If you take it at face value it’s a poly tunnel with some butterflies and I guess you could wizz through in 5 minutes, but we spent the best part of an hour finding out about the different butterflies, their habitats and all the conservation work behind the scenes. When you understand how much work and expense goes into keeping this project alive, we were perfectly happy with the entrance fee and would highly recommend.

You can go for a nice relaxing stroll along the promenade right up the castle and war memorial. If you walk on the beach then it is best to wear sandals or flipflops. The beach and surrounding area is clean, well maintained and family friendly
