We are a Horseback Safari Company operating in the iSimangaliso Wetland Park in Zululand, South Africa. This is an incredible corner of Africa, so fantastic it is a classified UNESCO World Heritage Area. The Park covers a mosaic of land forms that have created a vast array of biomes to support a very wide variety of animals, plants and birds. We have the highest bird count in all of Africa, the southern-most breeding spots for turtles in Africa, Africa's tallest forested dunes, the largest remaining stands of sand forest, the biggest peat beds in the Southern Hemisphere and vast wetlands.... and all of this runs alongside 220 kilometers of pristine beaches and the warm waters of the Indian Ocean, where turtles nest, whales often pass on their way to breed just a little further north in Mozambique and dolphins play in the surf.
We had a morning beach ride with Bhangazi Horse Safaris arranged for us by Ndiza Lodge. We were a group of about 8 riders with two guides. The horses were in very good condition and we were very well looked after. The saddles and helmets provided were also immaculate. As our group was of mixed riding ability, we split up at some point so everyone was happy. A great outing!!

This estuary is part of the Greater St. Lucia Wetland Park and includes fishing, hiking tours, boat tours and a crocodile center. The crocodiles make swimming an ill-advised idea.
We booked on the hippo croc cruise boat at around Mid Day , which was recommended to us as hippos are usually waking up from their sleep around this time. We saw a lot of hippos and only 2 crocodiles and a rare sighting of Hammer bird and then a green falcon which is the fastest bird or animal on earth I believe . True magic! Only irritation was the rude tour guide from a French group of tourists , he was rather rude to other people not included on his tour. Making it unpleasant for others.

This park is a definite must visit for any person who loves exploring the natural beauty of our world and wildlife. Amazing eco-systems and your changes to see most of the big 5 is very good if you take the time to explore all the links off the main road to Cape Vidal. Cape Vidal beach itself is also really beautiful. Do take a picnic hamper or snacks with you as there is not restaurants in the game reserve - there is quite a few places along the various loops in the reserve to enjoy a picnic while taking in the beauty of this amazing place.
