We may have had to wait for at least 40 for our meals - But yous tried your best w meeting everyone's needs , I could see myself yous were under staffed but yous managed so well!!!!!!! so calm and polite.... Service was amazing especially the chick who took our order and the boss man as well as the chief you hit the spot with your great cooking... As a local ill be back and will recommend you to those looking for somewhere great and affordable , THANKS AGAIN ..... P.S. Be patient man , they are only doing what the can

Reviewed By johnoV9613FNStayed here for one night 2 June. Very clean & well maintained unit. Wonderful grounds with birdsong everywhere. Lots of space. Great shower pressure & plenty of hot water. Comfy bed. Added bonus was the unlimited wifi & morning paper, things you don't get elsewhere. Very reasonable tariff. We'll be back.

The hosts are so knowledgeable with lots of stories about local, national and international travel experience! Unprofessional Owner/Manager, Very Bad Rooms, Over priced, Not Kid Friendly, and VERY BAD BEHAVIOUR.
Reviewed By Kayan_wandererDO NOT STAY HERE!! Disgusting old rooms, cutlery looks really old, beds are so soft that I got a very bad backpain in the morning. It seemsthat the rooms are filled with stuff collected from kerbside spring cleanout. Most importantly, the owner is one unetchical and unprofessional business person I have come across. We left behind a toy of our daughter and a phone charger, when contacted initially he asked me to send a pre-paid courier envelope, but when followed up he put me to ranson to first delete a negative review that I didn't even write at the first place. He was so rude that he didn't even listen to me and hanged up. So, a man who has the audacity to throw a child's toy, over charge customers for disgusting rooms, and hang up on his guests doesn't deserve any business whatsoever. This pandemic should be an eye opener for such shady businesses. #donotstayhere

Great stay for a cheap price
Reviewed By RodayanFor a 3 star motel, this is actually pretty amazing. Pros: private geothermal pools open any time! This was what decided us to come here, and were not disappointed. Online booking was easy and had a big discount, booked while family driving towards town. Different sizes of apartment, we had a 2brm that would sleep 5. Small but furnished kitchenette, pretty standard. Geothermal heaters in the rooms, plus an extra oil heater in case you needed more. Sparse but clean. Close to ski areas etc but not on the main road, so not as busy. Service was good, friendly and helpful manager. Cons: iphone map app can show the wrong address if you input the address without the motel name Takeaways delivery didn’t happen despite being told they would deliver… but that was a fault with the takeaway company. The furniture is very simple, chairs not hugely comfortable. DVD player appeared to be broken, no instructions on use of TV or DVD units. Milk was only a small amount in a little glass bottle with no lid, so was in danger of spilling in the fridge.

Reviewed By Traceylee2017Stayed 3 nights over Queens Birthday weekend. The unit was exceptionally clean and warm. Plenty of bedding for the chilly nights. The restaurant on site was also exceptional. Dined there with family on Friday evening. Fabulous meal and fabulous friendly service.

During the winter season we also have the Whakapapa Ski Fields (the biggest in New Zealand). A few minutes walk from our Motel is the famous Tongariro River, home to Trout Fishing, Kayaking, White-Water Rafting and beautiful walks. We can arrange and ticket any of the activities available in this area, including shuttle buses to the Mountain for Skiing or hiking. Our amenities include our Hot Spa, guest laundry & drying room, in room DVD players, Sky TV with 50+ channels plus split heat pumps in all unit, cosy warm in winter and cool in summer.

Reviewed By aspice2021During a very difficult trip, this place was truly a peaceful haven, better than anything we could have hoped for. Clean, warm, quiet, and so welcoming. The full kitchen, laundry, bbq area and deep private spa pool were godsends, and we were very fond of Donna's caring and conscious focus as a caretaker for the wellbeing of humans, wildlife, and the environment of this unique place by the crater's heart. The additional night we needed due to a breakdown was no problem - nothing was too much trouble. We'll be back.
