Worst Hotel Management Ever
Reviewed By Armyman55All the problems started when I tried to cancel my reservation 12 days prior to check in. When I made the reservation, I was told that I would receive an email with my confirmation number. A few days later I still had not received the email and called the front desk again to ask about my confirmation number. I was told that they were having computer issues and that by 7 pm I would have the email. My plans changed and I no longer needed the room, so I decided to cancel. Just to reemphasized I called the front desk to cancel the reservation 12 days prior. I was told that I did not have a reservation to cancel. I talked with Miranda at the front desk and she assured me there was not a reservation in the computer. The day after I was supposed to check in I was charged for a one night stay. I called the front desk and requested to speak to the manager. I was told that he was not in and to call on Monday. I called every day of that week and requested to talk to the manager, (Mike) and was told that he was not in. Finally on Friday I called the front desk and was told by the desk clerk that she had talked with Mike and he said that there was nothing he could do. I called Holiday Inn Express corporate offices and was told there was nothing they could do and it would be handled by the local owner. Holiday Inn Corporate was also disappointing. I have phone records from my cell phone carrier to document the date and time when I called to cancel. The manager did not have the courage to talk with me on the phone. He let his desk clerk handle this issue. Being a retired Army Officer I know how to handle deadlines and unfortunately I trusted what I was told. I will never stay at this hotel again and would never recommend this hotel to anyone. If Mike had been under my command and had done something like this I would have relieved him on the spot! Beware of this hotel because if you have any issues you will not receive any assistance or satisfaction from the manager, Mike.

Reviewed By haveatumsAfter this hotel experience I will never prepay for a hotel again because I would have canceled and moved hotels as soon as I arrived. When you walk in the building you are overwhelmed with the smell of cigarettes and as a non-smoker this is not pleasant. If you chose to stay here and a non-smoker make sure to double check you are in a non smoking room in hopes it helps a little! Due to the smell of smoke I kept as much of my belongings in the car as possible and when returning home will have to leave my suitcase and laptop bag outside to air out. Once in the room the AC unit was so loud it was hard to fall asleep, the room was not very clean even to the point the hair dryer handle was sticky, mirror in bathroom is streaked and splattered, floor had either blood spots or dropped nail polish which needed to be mopped up. The back entrance was also piled with large amount of trash sitting in moveable charts so the lack of cleanliness appeared throughout the building. (Smoke smell was even worse at this entrance than the front) Other than the room being dirty there were also a number of repairs needed. The shower head appeared to have paint on it, there was peeling paint, rusty spots near the door, etc. If repairs are done, lights need to be added: there are three small lamps in the room which do not provide light near the door and when showering the light in the bathroom is so low that you struggle to see. No way to put makeup on.

False Advertising — Avoid at all Costs!
Reviewed By TravelermX1143BUWe booked this hotel as a stopover during our travels, but were absolutely horrified when we arrived. Trash and debris everywhere, and the back of the hotel is completely closed due to fire damage several years ago. It looked completely unsanitary and unsafe, and we elected to immediately leave and find another hotel. The manager does not seem to find any issue with the current state of the hotel, nor the discrepancy between the advertisement and reality. Needless to say, we are filing complaints as well as a credit card dispute for false advertising. Photos attached but it is hard to do justice to the shock we felt driving in. How this place is still allowed to be in operation, we are not sure. Hopefully this review helps others avoid the same issue.

Reviewed By Gizella MMy friend and I spent 2 nights here during our trip from PA to Florida. We picked it because of the cost and thought the pictures of the motel were nice. Room was old, but seemed clean. No one made up the Room after our first night. Frig old and rusty, but it did work. Bathroom needs upgrade badly;minimal linens and a few bars of soap. Got in late and had to buzz our way in. Clerk not very cordial. And may I mention that it wasn't until the next morning that we realized the business next door was a vet with kennels in the back. Who needs an alarm when you have dogs barking at 6am? Yes, it was less than $60 a night, but even that was too much for what we got.
