It would have been a good stay but for the workmen who thought it was a good idea to change gear and trailers around at like 1am in the morning and had a great old chat and took their time. But i cant blame the motel so yip overall pretty good and the staff are real friendly and helpful

Easy booking. Quick friendly check in. Excellent parking right in front of our unit. We had a one bedroom unit. Clean and tidy with everything needed for our one nights stay. Decent bathroom with large spa bath. Nice bed with good size room. We ate at Little India which is only a two minute walk from the motel. Maybe it is about time to invest in a bigger TV with sky and mount it on the wall. Besides that we will definitely stay here again next time when down visiting family.

I just want to say a massive thank you to mama Jan! From the moment we moved in it felt like home because of her, she kept me and my 3year old safe, kept the place spotless, cared, helped when we needed help and would go over and beyond to help anyone. She’s a hard working woman and having her there made our stay that much better!

There was one spare plug in the room. ONE! There was an ancient alarm clock which couldn't be unplugged and showed the wrong time on a damaged screen. For WiFi you get one voucher for 100MB and after that you have to return to reception and buy more vouchers. Reception closes at 10:30pm so after that you're on your own! Trains - goods trains which are very long and loud - go past all night. The spa bath was amazing and the only positive about this place.

Greeted warmly by the owner who essentially went through the routine of indicating what was where, which included the use of the kitchen upstairs and lounge. Bedrooms were downstairs, where there was also a private entrance as well as a shared bathroom and toilet along with complimentary refreshments. Bedroom was quite simply furnished, but allowed for a large comfortable bed, nightstand, and table (with chair). It also provided a wonderful view of the inner harbour. Bathroom was spacious and contained both a bath and shower. Little issues however spoiled what otherwise may have been a more relaxing and enjoyable stay. There appears to be a heavy emphasis on electronics in this household and if not gadget adept, this is likely to be the source of much frustration. For two very short periods of time, (between when the hosts children were not watching films or gaming), I took the opportunity to watch some television. Turning it on however entails a complex process which is achieved more my trial and error than following the instructions in the guest compendium (which do not match up anyway). Most my time at the accommodation was therefore room-bound. However, even here, attempting to gain a Wi-Fi signal proved to be frustrating, with the connection (once achieved) being intermittent. The electronic lock on the external entrance door failed to work, requiring me to enter through the main door at a time when (thankfully) the hosts were in residence. Towels were provided, but no face flannel. The kitchen, while advised that I could use it, is still their kitchen, and they did use it from time to time. For a guest to also use it felt (for me) too intrusive, so meals were had away from the home.

Accommodation and Conference Facilities
Stayed at Aotea Lodge. Parts of it are under renovation. My family stayed in a unit, both upstairs and downstairs with an adjoining stairwell. The unit was very warm and well equipped. Although well worn in parts the unit was enough for our family requirements. Stayed 3 days, 2 nights. Walking distance to where we needed to be. Short drive to Porirua shopping centre. Near Aotea lagoon. Great park for kids and families. Very pleasant stay at lodge.

My aunts and uncles stayed in this property this week for a family reunion, as it was the place they holidayed as children. We were invited to visit for a family dinner for a few hours. The host arrived at about 8pm and proceeded to tear strips off them for inviting guests into her home that she didnt know about. She was rude, disrespectful and embarrassing to the point where one of the aunts was in tears. I couldnt believe what I was hearing. If you dont want people in your home, then dont rent it out! Clearly an angry woman. Shame on you. Would not recommend this host.
