Reviewed By svenabc2016Its a rather simple 2-star mountain hotel this, but what They have better than anyone is the balcony view (room 4 and 10 as we know, maybe from several...) directly on Mont Blanc. Amazing it is, especially at sunrise.... What They also achieve is an ambience that is superb based on super friendly service and a welcoming attitude. Their terrace in front of their bar do help as well. Like it a lot and will hopefully be back!

Résidence Le Fontenay is located 15 km from Saint-Gervais-les-Bains, and 2 km from the Plaine Joux ski resort and sport centre. Free Wifi is available in the residence. Stunning location and views
Reviewed By danbrindley75We stayed for one night after driving down through France on a euro road trip and the road up to the property and the views are amazing. We had our pet dog with us and arranged the booking ahead to ensure no problems. The place was almost empty in early May so we didn’t really get a feel for the place as the bar, lounge and dining areas were empty. We did have a couple of beers and and burger and chips though and sat outside to eat so we could take in the mountain views. The girl on reception wasn’t the liveliest and if you don’t speak French you may have to improvise a little like I did! Overall a nice pit stop after a long drive and it’s all about the views really!!

"Camping l'Ecureuil***" is a three stars campsite located in Sallanches, in the heart of the Mont-Blanc Area, a privileged place to discover the mountain and many activities. All resorts are about twenty kilometers from your campsite: Megeve, Chamonix, St Gervais, Combloux, Les Contamines etc.
Good cheap clean camping
Reviewed By LightPacker775417Cheaper price compared to most in the area, especially compared to Chamonix. Easy booking system. Big enough area for camping with very clean toilets with singular confined sinks. Showers had full hot water, slightly flooded but not too much of an issue. Only problem was the noisy main road which runs next to the site however this tends to go quiet from roughly 10:30. Great access to everything around. Some of the best views imaginable of Mt Blanc from certain places in the grounds

Comfortable with a fantastic view

The room was very nice, the best bed I had in hotels since ages and the view at the valley and the Mont Blanc is stunning. Lovely owners who speak English quite well! I read the two-star review someone gave, and can’t recognize any of what it said. Definitely would recommend!

family camping next to a private lake with swimming priviliges. Magnificient view of Mont Blanc. plenty of recreational activities in the surrounding area. Restaurant with local french cuisine.
Retro lake and relaxed camping
Reviewed By MountainLodgeCompanyThis place is a treasure! The private lake is absolutely wonderful, peaceful, beautiful and the family that run this place are great too. You can feel the history in this place from what it must have been like back in the day - yes it's a little run down but in a good way...I wouldn't change a thing. A restaurant and bar, you can pre order baguettes etc for the morning, get take away chips and beers. Amazing carpe live in the lake underneath beautiful the lily pads and a water slide, planches to swim out to and a diving board keep our kids entertained all day they rarely want to go to the beach on the lake next door! Great for paddle boarding round with birds and wildlife to see. The campsite is basic but in a great way - pitch up whereever you like and the newly refurbished toilet block is great.
