Long weekend of relaxation

Reviewed By susanGibraltar

The hosts were very nice and explained everything to my daughter and son-in-law while I occupied the little ones with a park they had, which was very nice with a little house, swings and slide and a jumping trampoline in the complex beside the pool where you could keep an eye on them, it looked very safe. They had plenty to play with and keep them occupied. Pool a nice size. No lifeguards as far as I saw on duty. The complex was nice with a lot of greenery and some plants were marked with their name of what they were. Our little house, apartment was on a high floor and we walked plenty of stairs with luggage that was hard! Once we got to the house the first floor were two bedrooms and two shower rooms, then more stairs and there was a little kitchen, living room and dining room and another bedroom. Bedrooms all had a large queen size beds, a small wardrobe and little beside table. The wardrobes have a few hangers. From the second floor outside the living room there was a small patio with facilities for barbecue which we used all the time we were there. You have to bring your own stuff, food and coal etc. Then there is another flight of stairs and you have a terrace with beautiful views. The kitchen has cutlery, plates, cups etc and some saucepans also and other utensils you might need. They also provide you with drying cloth etc. They have a kettle and coffee maker and a microwave and also an oven and fire. Also a big fridge. No dishwasher available. Big large TV in the dining room/lounge. You had great views from all the windows. The bedroom I chose was on the ground floor with an ensuite shower room/toilet. The shower was built on the floor, it had not shower floor and the walls. You basically had to go through the shower to get to the toilet on the other side. I think they made the best at the little space they had. I used my pool shoes to shower as the floor was a bit rough to my taste. The only thing I complained of was the dampness on the ceiling and I was told by the owner that it was because the shower had no windows and the moisture had nowhere to go. Also one of the drawers in the wardrobe was broken which I forgot to tell the owners. I am sure they would have repaired it. They were nice people. The house itself was very clean. All facilities were very clean. There was an onsite restaurant called The Casita. I think it opened for lunch and dinner but you had to book. We just went once to try it out as it was just in our doorstep. The food was good and the service quick but unfortunately they do not take credit/debit cards. We do not carry that much cash around normally we use the credit cards so we just had enough for our meal. We would have wanted some desserts but unfortunately we did not have enough cash. We only found out about this when we opened the actual menu. We did not know before.

ANOTHER MEMORABLE STAY

Reviewed By H8529AApault

Not long back from this gorgeous Spanish hide away. Our second stay and equally enjoyable as the first in 2011. Thankfully nothing has changed, Same breathtaking view over the valley below, same wonderful chorus of bird song to wake up to, same tastefully manicured gardens and surroundings of Casas de Montejaque, same cheap as chips prices for food and drink in the village....simply beautiful. Thank you Cristobal and your staff for another wonderfully relaxing stay in your Andalucian accomodation. Hope to see you and Montejaque on a more regular basis. Janet and Paul Taylor, Belfast.

Beautiful house and lovely hosts

Thank you Roni and Angel for looking after us so well. Sadly we could only stay one night as we were walking on the coast to coast route. We loved your very special home and the room we stayed in was perfect even in the July heat. Montejaque town touched our hearts. The pretty town square, narrow streets, fantastic panadería and many restaurants to choose from. So kind to provide an early breakfast so we could start walking early. Vivir es una fiesta ! ?
