Had an excellent two night stay here. Don't expect all the modern bells and whistles, like charging stations, etc. But an amazing, kind staff and the best meal of my time in Ireland. Try the bacon and cheese salad...it's delicious. Local foods used to prepare delicious dishes.

Coolcower House is a Guest House with 12 en-suite rooms. It is located 1.5 miles outside the town of Macroom on the N22. This is a unique old Country House with stunning views overlooking the River Lee. It is furnished in the traditional style. Each bedroom room is different as the house was built in the late 1920s.
This is a lovely guest house. Big and spacious. The views are gorgeous. The lady at reception was lovely to deal with with all COVID measures in place. Would definitely stay again when restrictions are lifted.

The Mills Inn is a traditional Inn in every sense of the word. When we talk about putting hospitality back into the growing Irish ‘Hospitality Industry’ the Mills Inn lies at its heart. The Mills has changed hands a few times over the years, and the present owners have brought the traditional Inn to an even higher level. A new shopping experience has been added with food, crafts, wines and special items for the house and garden. The Mills Inn knows that it is a country Inn – they focus on the food, the bar ambiance and the comfortable rooms.
The Mills Inn was always a staple for us when travelling from Kerry to Cork. It had been a while so was really looking forward to stopping again with my husband & childen. Unfortunately, it just wasn't the same. Poor quality overall. So disappointing. Vegetarian lasagne was full of mushy peas (!!) and besides that oddity just wasn't tasty. Kids pasta was undercooked. No little bit of cheese on the side or even a wee bit of garlic bread, just void of anything special. We had hoped for just have some toasties but they no longer offer sandwiches, such a pity. The toasties were always great. So, I doubt Ill be back. I've been stopping at the Mills Inn sice I was a child so its a pity.

WE have a guest room sleeping 3 with one double one single bed and separate shared shower room, & a Glamping Pod with its own toilet, double bed, double sofa bed, & single mattress sleeping four adults or family of 5
Nice area. Very peaceful. A good base for travelling around. Pedro the dog was very friendly. Our pets were welcomed. Pod was spacious and comfortable. Set in a in a lovely well kept garden. Short drive to Macroom but a longish walk, so bikes or car needed.
