The Busby Hotel is a rarity in Glasgow these days. Privately owned and with exacting standards in service and attention to detail, this hotel, perched on the banks of the River Cart, will provide an ideal base to relax and enjoy old-fashioned hospitality.
Stayed for a friend's wedding the other day. Genuinely one of the nicest hotels I've stayed at. The staff, room, bar & restaurant was lovely. The lady on reception (Sahara) was exceptionally helpful and nice. A credit to the Busby. Next time I'm in Scotland I'll definitely be staying there.

A 60 bedroom Premier Inn with meeting rooms for up to 10 in a boardroom format. Our Glasgow Newton Mearns Premier Inn has everything you'd expect, incredibly comfy beds in every room and an onsite Beefeater Grill restaurant serving freshly chargrilled food
Stayed in hotel on outbound and return journeys to Ireland, picked mainly for location and the consistency of Premier Inns. Friendly welcome, simple check in, took advantage of the breakfast and dinner meal option, good value for money, nothing fancy but convenient and again, friendly service. Room is no different from any of the other Premier Inns but certainly adequate for the overnight stays. Wouldn't hesitate in staying here again, Waitrose and Tesco stores across the road and alternative eating places close by if required.

Located in the affluent area of Newton Mearns in the Southside of Glasgow, Parklands Hotel & Country Club is 9 miles from Glasgow City Centre. We are 4 miles away from Hampden Park (Scotland’s National Stadium) and 5 miles away from Silverburn Shopping Centre. SEC & Hydro are accessible in just a short drive and we are close to both Glasgow International and Prestwick Airports. Also we are in easy reach to both Ayr and Troon. All rooms at the hotel are very spacious offering a large workstation with complimentary WIFI, Smart TV’s with Sky Sports, tea & coffee making facilities, in-room safes, hairdryer, iron & ironing board. Our rooms offer en-suite luxurious bathrooms including large deep baths and power showers. In our Executive Suites and Parklands Suite we offer robes and slippers. Some of our Deluxe Rooms offer sofa beds for additional sleeping spaces, inter-connecting and accessible rooms for those with limited mobility are also available.
We'd seen this hotel come up a couple of times in reviews and eventually decided to book it for a celebratory treat. We followed our GPS system and got parking at the back of the hotel. Despite signs saying "Parklands ****", the back of the building is horrid & dirty. My partner & I were baffled when we entered the building - it was all cold brick walls (like an old sports centre) and there was a queue of people lining up to pick up their kids from the onsite nursery. A kind parent saw we looked confused and gave us directions through the building to the main reception. Before reaching there, we saw signs for a pool with observation deck (odd for a spa hotel?) & there seemed to be adult sports going on in a hall, as well as a kids karate class in another space. When we eventually reached the main reception the receptionist asked for a card for the security deposit. She tried my partners card multiple times before suggesting he had no money on it and asking him to add £20 to his account. He checked his online banking and got a notification to say the expiry date was being typed in wrong - the receptionist tried again and it went through. By the time we reached our room we were pretty unimpressed only to find the £35 extra we'd paid for our wee celebration treat (swan towels, prosecco, chocolate strawberries and rose petals) was pretty dire. The towels were lovely but the petals were fake and 6x strawberries provided. We asked to see the spa facilities and were told we weren't allowed in our normal clothes (despite local members swiping in with cards with outdoor clothes) and told to look at the photos on the wall for an idea about what it was like. The pool was open for all the public to see and so was no different from a leisure pool i.e. not the standard of a relaxing spa that the hotel's literature would make you think. However, the bed was comfortable and bathroom was really clean. The food in restaurant is lovely and the staff in serving were fantastic and attentive. Can't fault them or their service at all! Okay for a basic stay but hard to see where all the top reviews and awards originate from.

Dating back to 1835, the BEST WESTERN Eglinton Arms Hotel is an old coaching inn, privately owned set at the edge of the village green in the heart of the rural village of Eaglesham. Highly reputated locally and open for meals all day, the split level restaurant is tastefully decorated with feature fireplaces, tartan carpets and stag's heads with a nod to a Scottish country house hotel with a modern contemporary twist. The hotel has 34 en-suite rooms, comprising single, double & twin options as well as a banqueting suite catering for up to 120 for weddings & family events.
We had our wedding in The Eg and it was fabulous. There is not one thing we would complain about or even mention as not 10 out of 10. 13 of us had dinner night before in hotel and again fantastic. All our guest were so complimentary on the staff of the hotel. Best Best western ever! Staff, every one of them from waiting, housekeeping, bar staff and of course the fab Carolyn were great. Would recommend this hotel to anyone thinking of dinner, overnight stay or wedding. Wish I could do all over again x

We visited the Uplawmoor hotel tonight as a family party of 6. Our table was booked for 6pm, as I’m writing this review it’s now 8.15pm and we’re still waiting on our dessert. The starters arrived in a relatively speedy (for the night) 30 mins. However, we then had to wait an hour for our main courses. Unfortunately, the food was cold. My wife ordered a steak and onion sandwich which was stone cold, and missing any and all of the afore-mentioned onions! When we pointed out that despite waiting an hour for the mains, the steak sandwich was cold, they apologised and said they would change it for us. Two minutes later, they came back with the same steak sandwich (with my wife’s bite mark still in it), still just as cold! We told the staff we weren’t happy with wait for the mains or the fact the food was cold - we were greeted with a lacklustre shrug of the shoulders, and a barely audible “sorry”, before they quickly shuffled away (no doubt in a rush to deliver some other lucky patrons some delicious cold food!

Dalmeny Park Hotel is one of Scotland’s premier wedding/conference venues and is located on the south side of Glasgow on the A 736 only a few miles from Glasgow International Airport and Glasgow City Centre. Dalmeny’s private gardens are extensive and include a secret garden for you to discover. The Orchid Restaurant, Bar and Lounge, located within the Dalmeny Park offers fine food all day. Selected from traditional favourites, modern dishes and a varied drinks list.
The Orchid restaurant here has good views over the gardens and has been one of our favourites for lunch. Unfortunately there is now a revised menu which is not nearly as good as before. Coupled with the inevitable price increase this makes it a less attractive destination for lunch.

Five miles south of Glasgow city centre, Giffnock Rooms provides stylish accommodation just a 1-minute walk from Giffnock Train Station. Just 2 minutes from shops, restaurants and bus routes into the city, it offers free parking and free Wi-Fi. Offering views of the garden, each room has a wardrobe, seating area and tea and coffee facilities and includes a TV. We have two family rooms with ensuite, one double bedroom and one single bedroom with shared access to a luxurious bathroom with power shower and roll-top bath. We have available for guests a coffee station on the upper level with microwave, fridge and complimentary fruit and pastries. City attractions including Glasgow Cathedral and the Glasgow Science Centre are within a 20-minute drive. The Riverside Museum and Glasgow School of Art are a similar distance away.
Thank you Jacqueline for a very comfortable stay in your beautiful home, the rooms were so cosy and warm. You were a superb host and so helpful and obliging to our needs! We look forward to our next stay when we’re in Glasgow!
