The permanent exhibithion tackles three major themes through a variety of approaches: the history and culture of the Cape Verde Islands, the universal language of art, the path of a "castaway" to salvation. A place for discussion and open debate to gain a better understanding of what it means to be human.
After three years of dedication and hard work by the entire family, this new Museum opened in October 2019. It is so well worth a visit. Entry at 7 euros is good value for money. The exhibits and display areas are amazing to lose yourself in a different world. The history story is well presented and one of the daughters spoke English which made it even more special for me. The underwater seabed floor is inspiring. Local people or those have relocated to live in Boa Vista will have their mind opened to the culture and history of the Island, which rose from volcano ...twice! The upper third floor is so beautifully decorated and you can sit and have juice, whilst looking out over the landscape of Sal Rei, Boa Vista. Well done and congratulations, Peggy from Guernsey, Channel Islands, visit was early December 2019. I took my time it was not rushed .....and noted it closes for lunch from about 1300 to 1430. Happy Christmas and I know you will have many visitors coming through your door. Wonderful new tourist attraction,

This was an amazing experience! If you are a history buff, you'll especially love this museum and this particular piece of history. It's located near the water with a beautiful view and not far from the residence of the country's president. Even if you're not much into history, you'll appreciate learning about Amilcar Cabral and everything that he contributed to the history of Cape Verde and the continent of Africa. He was more than a revolutionary; he was integral to the freedom of this beautiful island from her European colonizers. I was very unaware of Cabral's contribution so this was more than a learning experience. I came away with an education and a history lesson I will not soon forget.
