Old battered VW van with driver that stank of old tobacco. Felt every bump in road and car rattled its way to our hotel
The full day excursion to the Hungarian Puszta starts with a light sightseeing tour in the baroque city of Kecskemét,where you can walk around the beautiful downtown and visit the historic squares and buildings, see the famous City Hall and theater, and take a guided walking tour through some of the stunning churches. Then the tour continues in the Puszta. The guests are welcomed with cheesecake and pálinka (traditional Hungarian spirit/ schnapps). You can enjoy a cart-tour to the nearby Puszta where you can visit a small functioning farm. The main attraction is the horse show with the "Puszta ten" performance (10 horses galloping with a herdsman on their back) and the rush of the grooms. After the show you can ride a horse if you want. The windup of the programme is a traditional three-course lunch accompanied by live gipsy music: Hungarian Goulash, breaded chicken breast filet with roast pork chuck and salad, lastly milk-pie with apricot-jam.

We had an incredible tour with Idilko and a private driver in a Mercedes van (he was not introduced by he was very competent!). My husband and I did the tour with my 80 year old parents and both staff were kind and patient and showed us the highlights of the city while keeping in mind to avoid long walks or lots of stairs. Idilko is incredibly knowledgable about the long and interesting history of her city. We really enjoyed getting to know beautiful Budapest; we’ll be back!
Poised on Hungary’s southern border and known as the “City of Sunshine”, beautiful Szeged is well worth venturing beyond Budapest to discover. In the company of a private guide, embark on trip to the third biggest city in the country, beginning with a morning pickup at your hotel. Upon arrival in Szeged, you’ll wander through the city center, see the Dom, the Pantheon, the University of Szeged, downtown of the city enjoy a traditional lunch, and - depending on opening times - visit a museum devoted to two local culinary specialties — Pick salami and paprika — before hopping in the car and heading back to your Budapest hotel.

Two for one! During your stay in Timisoara you can visit not just one but two countries. Take advantage of the proximity of the Hungarian border to book a guided day trip to Hungary's third largest city. Szeged will welcome you not only with its magnificent buildings and easy going lifestyle but also with authentic Hungarian cuisine. Time for a Gulas or maybe a Langos. On our way to Szeged we'll make short stops in Sannicolau Mare and Mako on both sides of the Romanian-Hungarian border.

Come and be part of an amazing experience - visit the Hungarian Puszta (part of the Great Plain). First we visit Kecskemét city to see the difference between a town in the countryside and the bustling city of Budapest. Kecskemét has an individual image and its downtown recalls the Hungarian folk art noveau of the past century. We continue to Lajosmizse. At the farm we are are greated by a traditional strong spirit, so called Pálinka. Before a horseshow we get on a carriage for a ride in the “puszta”. Our program goes on with the heart-breaking attraction of the Hungarian “csikós” (Hungarian horsemen). Then we walk along the stable to see the horses (riding is optional) and walk around the indigenous Hungarian animal courtyards. You have a 3 course country-style lunch including Hungarian goulash with wine which will be ‘served’ with authentic gipsy music. Return to Budapest. The tour ends in the city centre.

This was an excellent boat trip on the River Danube lasting more or less one hour in which to see the amazing buildings and architecture on either side of the great River Danube through the heart of the city of Budapest. We had a good time.
