Upminster is a suburban town in east London, England, and part of the London Borough of Havering. Located 16.5 miles (26.6 km) east-northeast of Charing Cross, it is one of the locally important district centres identified in the London Plan, and comprises a number of shopping streets and a large residential area. Historically in Essex, Upminster was originally a rural village and formed an ancient parish. Although peripheral to London, the town has good transport links; it was first connected to central London by rail in 1885 and has a terminal station on the London Underground network. The economic history of Upminster is characterised by a shift from farming to garden suburb. As part of the suburban growth of London in the 20th century, Upminster significantly expanded and increased in population, becoming part of Hornchurch Urban District in 1934, and has formed part of Greater London since 1965.

We arrived in the morning and Parked the car £2 all day, we went down one of the Trails that go through the woods, loads of lovely Birds in the tree's out in the fresh air, there were lots of other people all on different Trails with their children, the Car Park is very large with many cars, I would say it is a cheap day out in the Country and Woods.

We pre booked pria to going Saturday evening. Things are obviously different due to covid , on arrival your checked in. Hand gel. Inside all seating areas have a plastic screen dividing you from other drinkers. Waitress service to your table. Outside there are seating areas all decided & I actually liked it. Under cover & comfy chairs. It’s not a big place, and there is no car park. But if your having a drink you wouldn’t take your car !! It has a nice relaxed feel .. plenty of choice of drinks. Beers & ales some you wouldn’t get in a pub, Gin & procecco’s .. Ideal too for pre drinks as there’s plenty of restaurants in the area

Had a fantastic evening and massive support again from the team at the Crumbled Horn for our quiz night. They are so calm and organised and have a great sense of humour. They really know how to give support to us for these events to enable us to attract people back to raise funds for our small local charity. People who came to support the charity, the pub team and locals having a drink in the bar all helped us raise a fantastic amount of money. The quiz was excellent as we all felt able to actually give answers - I actually managed about 6 - amazing! So at the risk of not being able to get booked again I want to share our experience with others who may be looking to hold a quiz for their local charity. I can't praise highly enough the support we are given by all the team at the pub and would say if you are a local charity looking to raise funds talk to the team there and prepare to feel the possibilities for your charity. So glad we have such a community spirited pub available to help charities fund raise.
