A very nice walk with a wonderful view of the mountains, go on a clear day though because otherwise you will not see the mountains and half of the experience will be gone. If you look carefully there are little markers on the rail that tells you what each mountain that you see is called.Yes there are cafes and restaurants along the way and it's very close to the town center. There is also the funicular that brings you to the lower part of the town and at the end of the walk there is the chateau de Pau. I live in Pau so I walk there often but I would recommend for tourists.

This library is amazing. It's huge with a great selection of books. When you have a library card, you can also borrow ebooks and stream films at home.

First things first: churches are not museums, but for servicing masses and being the center of a parish. This church is living, and apart from being old and used, I can not confirm that this church is "old and musty" or "not well kept". Yes - I attend services regularly, even on business trips. And I have to admit that Abbé Dufau really got me. Before service started, everyone attending was welcomed personally, the mass itself was held with intensity and the community was really present. The sermon that the Abbé held on Matthew 22, 15-21 was confirming, challenging and a call to action. If you go there for attending a museum, a work of art, you will find better places. But the beauty of this place is to be experienced when visiting it for its purpose. Thanks to the Abbé and the attending parish, I felt home at Pau.
