Boating, snorkeling, diving…there are endless ways to explore the aquamarine waters of Grand Case. Nestled in a northern crook on the French side of Saint Martin, Grand Case is beloved by tourists and locals for its gourmet cuisine. Indulging in a decadent French meal after a long day in the sun is one of Grand Case’s greatest pleasures. Cap off your evening by sipping local rum as you marvel at the “green flash” of the sun kissing the sea good night.

Rented a house form the owners a few months before Irma. Glad to see they rebuilt. Excellent wine selection and gourmet foods.

Les Mardis de Grand Case (aka Harmony Night) is a street fair where locals sell food and art/crafts. Occurs every Tuesday night (6:00 pm to 10:30 pm) from January to April.
We were in SM for a week in Feb 2020 and were able to catch the Mardi Gras parade on one of the Grand Case Tuesday nights. We ate at one of the Lolos in Grant Case, I think it was called Top of the World (or Top of the Sky) and we had chicken and ribs, johnny cakes, etc. It was basic, but good. The scene down at Grand Case that night was super busy and hectic, but fun. Lots, to see and do, artist fare to buy, drinks to be had, etc. Later in the week we ate at the Lolo behind the first one (I think it was called Rib City), and it was terrible. Awful service and the food was not as good. So go to the front one with the yellow seating.

I was a little concerned about beaches on the French side after Anse marcel and orient bay, which I found to be tad pretentious and expensive. Grand Case beach was a corrective experience: it was laid back, fun, and captain frenchy was reasonably priced restaurant to grab drinks at and some lounge chairs (with umbrella). The water is beautiful and sand is powder white. Just as an aside in terms of location, there’s 3 restaurants at the far end of the beach, on the opposite end of restaurant row. THAT is where all the chairs and umbrellas are and I highly suggest making a reservation at one of those spots if you want to relax by the water. I recommend frenchies. We parked on the street and skipped one of the pay lots. I’d go back to grand case for sure!
