I first discovered this shop tucked away in a little laneway in the centre of Athens in August 2016. I was travelling by myself while my partner was in Singapore on business. I was exploring the Monastiraki Flea Market and walked the length and breadth of it to see everything that was on offer instead of jumping in and buying the first thing I saw. I am so glad I waited to make my purchases. Among all the shops selling similar style shoes SoWhat had, in my opinion, the most stylish designs. I bought a pair of Kouros & Iris 51 sandals in natural leather and Iris 4/5 in bronze together with some men's sandals for my partner. I wore the natural leather sandals every day for the rest of my time in Athens. I climbed up the Acropolis to the Parthenon. I walked hundreds of kilometres in the weeks I was in Greece. I drove around the entire Peloponnese Region and trekked across all the historical sites and towns in my SoWhat sandals. On my way home from Greece, I spent two weeks in Singapore and wore the sandals every day. Walking my way around Singapore. Since returning to Australia in September 2016 I have worn the sandals every single day - either around the house, shopping, going out with friends for coffee and lunch. The sandals are still going strong although the toe piece on the right hand shoe came away from the base last year, the left hand shoe is till in perfect condition. Brad's shoes have lasted the same amount of time and he has worn his every day since I gave them to him as well. I think this stands as testament to the quality and durability of these sandals. I recently managed to track down SoWhat Leather Sandals using Google Maps and working my way around the Monastiraki Flea Market. Once I had the shop name it was easy to find their website. After checking the photos on Google Maps I recognised it as the shop where I had bought my shoes. Last week I placed two online orders for more sandals and they are exactly the same quality as my previous ones. The owner is a very honest and honourable man. You can confidently buy from SoWhat online and know that your order will arrive. The owner and I had some email correspondence regarding my order and he couldn't have been more helpful or generous. I can unreservedly recommend SoWhat Leather Sandals to anyone looking for top quality leather goods, that will last for many years to come.
