Sprawling tea plantations surround the serene hills of Munnar, which attract adventure travelers hungry for paragliding, treks to Anaimudi (South India's highest peak) and hikes originating at the confluence of three mountain streams. The stone Christ Church, built by the British in 1910, is adorned with renowned works of stained glass, and Eravikulam National Park, about 10 miles away, is home to equally colorful wildlife, including the endangered Nilgiri Tahr (ibex), ruddy mongoose and 120 bird species.

We are situated on the sloppy side of Muthirapuzha River at Pallivasal, Munnar. Moselberg is a cluster of 6 independent - Luxury One bedroom Cottages (Villas) with an individual balcony with seating area, dressing room and a bathroom which offers a vista of beautiful Muthirapuzha river, forest and tea mountains.
We loved this place. But I will also use this review to warn travellers of what to watch out for. Pros: 1. The room view is incomparable! The balcony faces a heavily gushing stream and lush greenery all around. You fall asleep next to the soothing sound of the river. You can even walk down to the stream (at your own risk) 2. The beds are nice and comfortable 3. Were surprised to see that TV has English channels such as Romedy Now etc. 4. Good scrumptious on time breakfast 5. Provided free bicycles (some were not in good condition - staff informed us accordingly) 6. Staff was very polite, courteous, helpful and prompt (provided umbrella on request) 7. Rooms are soundproofed, so all you hear is the tranquil stream sounds 8. It is a clean, well-maintained property Cons / watch out for: 1. If you get one of the lower most rooms (like we did - no. 209), be prepared to walk up and down for breakfast, and basically everything. Not recommended for elderly people or people with physical health issues 2. What makes the location exclusive is also a con. Since it is a steep drive down, you are totally dependent on your driver to take you around. The main town (for restaurants or convenience stores) is at least 2-3 kms away. So it is not walking distance. No street lights at night. So walking and exploring on your own is not really an option. 3. Our driver informed us that the toilets meant for drivers were not very clean, which was a cause of concern for us. 4. One of the approach roads is in very bad condition. So if you or the driver is not aware of this, you are likely to get stuck on a bad road. 5. While the breakfast was good, we did not quite like the dinner much. Hence we went out every night.

Whether you're looking for luxurious accommodation or budget one, we have cottages and rooms that would suit your expectations. Spread in close to 4 acres of serene land, we have the right mix of open and closed spaces.
We went as a family to Munnar there were 12 of us. The property was good. But not great accessibility to the location . the rooms were good and well maintained . The food was good. the staff helpful and friendly. But we were not able to get a campfire , as promised. "Carpe Diem" is a "high end" cottage, luxuriously furnished, and located in Anachal Munnar. The views from the veranda and roof garden are breathtaking. We offer airport pick up and sightseeing. Our chauffeur speaks fluently English and has years of experience in driving the dangerous mountain roads. Do you enjoy bird watching? Do you enjoy nature? Carpe Diem Cottage is the place to be. We are located in the Western Ghats, the famous mountains of India. Today (July 1 2012 we made it to the WORLD HERITAGE LIST. What an honor!! Nature lovers, come check it out! We rent the cottage as a whole ( 4 bedrooms, 10 guests) Rs. 14000), or as single rooms (Rs. 3500)(2-3 persons). We are located 17 Km from Munnar, about 20 minute drive over scenic route
We stayed at the Carpe Diem cottage around Christmastime with eight people. We had a whole cottage to ourself and it was absolutely incredible! The rooms were all well furnished and clean, and the view from the cottage is breathtaking. Highly recommend waking up early and seeing the sunrise. We had to run the water for a while before hot water came, and when three showers were running there was a brief problem where the water stopped running. The manager Prakash was very helpful and gave an very reasonable rate. He offered homecooked meals but we decided to eat at the nearby town of Anachal. It was a bit of a further drive to the attractions in Munnar than from some other resorts, but if you leave early you should only have around a 20 minute drive. Overall, highly recommend a stay at Carpe Diem!
