Named by American soldiers during the post-World War II occupation years, the Romantic Road is a 200-mile-plus section of one of Germany's most picturesque highways, stretching from Würzburg in Bavaria's north to Füssen near the Austrian border. Along the route are many favorite tourist towns and attractions, including Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Dinkelsbühl, Augsburg, and Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau Castles. Bike tours along the route are quite popular, and bus tours are also available.

We had a short two night stay here in August. The hotel was not busy due to the pandemic. However, we'd imagine it would be packed under normal circumstances, as it is a beautiful place in a central location. The building is old, but restored well, keeping some of the original architectural elements intact. We'd describe the interiors as modern rustic, which is very fitting for the picturesque town. Linens are clean, white and crisp. Bathrooms didn't come with many soaps or toilettries, but are immaculately cleaned. Wifi connection was strong. Some of the rooms are bigger and more spacious than others. Small windows frame views to adjacent roofs beautifully. A selection of wines and liqueurs for a decent price were stocked in our mini refrigerator. There is a small lift in the building, in case the stairs are not an option. The restaurant below was always busy - probably because the food is delicious, plus the outdoor heaters made dinners during the cool evenings much more bearable. Complimentary buffet breakfast came with a good selection of food and drinks, and cakes. We would definitely stay here again.

I arrived in the late afternoon. The key was in the safe and the code was provided in advance. When I entered the room, I was pleasantly surprised as it was more spacious than I expected. The view was really impressive and looked straight onto the castle! The bathroom was clean and they had all the amenities you would expect including a hairdryer! The kitchen was also well equipped and functional too. I had a balcony too, but as it was winter, I didn't really venture out, but in summer, I can imagine, it must be amazing. The bed was comfortable as was the sofa. I also had a little table and chair set to have breakfast or dinner. There were only 2 minor issues; limited wifi that was intermittent and a tricky to operate button on the cooker to adjust the intensity of the heat. The latter is a very minor point and easily fixable. All in all, it was a great few days. Close proximity to everything if you have a car. Would I stay here again? Definitely!

Those who are away from home for a long time, who are looking for a place where they feel at home. Will feel right from the beginning comfortable in this charming, brand new Long Stay Boarding House and its eleven individually and very attractively designed apartments. APARTMENTS The ANA Living Augsburg offers a total of eleven individually and extremely appealing designed apartments as well as a suite. Has its own terrace or balcony, from which you can enjoy the view of the old town. These modern and almost luxurious Serviced Apartments are decorated in noble colors, the bathrooms are modern and contemporary. Free Wi-Fi and a large Smart TV are just as natural as the modern induction cookers and Nespresso machines, which as well as the cozy sitting area and the tasteful furnishings are part of the basic equipment of each apartment. DOMESTIC EQUIPMENTS After a long day at the ANA Living, the long-term guest can enjoy a wonderful rest: a nicely designed social area with a living room character, free 24/7 Dallmayr coffee and a quiet courtyard. Even cooking and laundry are easily possible. However, what is definitely a thing of the past is the topic of finding a key: Thanks to the PIN and mobile phone, you can easily get into your apartment at any time, even if it is very late. WORK & RELAX If you work a lot, you have to relax too. That is why comfort is a top priority at the ANA Living Augsburg. Guests are not only delighted by well-equipped and comfortably furnished rooms, but also by a uniquely quiet location in the picturesque old town of Augsburg. A beautiful courtyard with a garden character gives the impression of a green oasis and is just right to relax after a long day at work. LOCATION AND SURROUNDINGS Just over a kilometer from Augsburg train station, the ANA Living enjoys a central location in the heart of the old town. Nearby there are a variety of gastronomic highlights and attractions.
There is absolutely nothing good about this establishment. First of all, they do not have a reception. Now this would not be so bad, if one could get hold of someone! We in error made a reservation for a room with private bathroom. We did not realize that one has to trek down the passage to the bathroom, which at this point, I would like to add, had exactly 1/3 of a toilet roll. We tried to phone the number on reservation +49 821 82180770, which does not exist. We managed to find another number on reservation where you end up at Quality hotel. We wanted to know if we could book another room with bathroom en suite. This person took about 90 minutes to get hold of manager who simply said we booked it and cannot assist. Absolutely NO service in any form. I was disappointed to pay 85 Euro and not to have the convenience of having a bathroom en suite. It is more hostel type. The room also has no aircon or fan and windows open up on noisy square. Bed was soft and no parking in vicinity. Anyway, we left and went to a hotel which was 5 stars ito service and accommodation. Will never promote or stay at a ANA establishment again!

Pros: Very comfortable, clean & spacious rooms. Bed was wide enough and very comfortable. Kitchen had all necessary utensils & cooking facilities and a dining area. Tea bags, sugar was readily available. Owner provided us 2 Public transport passes for free; hence we could use public transport for free. Open spaces on all side of hotel so we had open wide scenic view. Grocery store, train station is at walking distance. Friendly & helpful owner. Cons: It's quite far from the places where the private buses drop. Wifi connection is good, but gets disconnected every 30 min and you need to connect again. Bathroom is small. There is no 24 hours reception, but there are clear instructions on how to reach them. There is no elevator so you will need to drag your luggage and there isn't any help either

We were very happy with the size of our apartment and the fact it had a balcony. Everything was clean, all rooms were spacious. Parking is free so is the wi-fi (did not work very well, but it was still usable). Location is very convenient and completely quiet at night. They have also place to store your bicycles. The owner of this place is very friendly and helpful, which is good, as she lives with her family in the same house. The only thing I did not like was the mattress which was not very comfortable and it needs an upgrade. Price was fair for this location and it was really good value for money. Recommended!
