Cueva de las Manos

Cave of the Hands contains prehistoric paintings.

Go to see these prehistoric paintings, an UNESCO World Heritage site, 13,000 to 9,000 years old. Very interesting, mainly hands, but also animals and symbols, rather well preserved. It is some 120km from Lago Posadas. You can treck the scenic Rio Pinturas "cañadon", small canyon.

Fantastic tour, our guide was knowledgeable and friendly and even told us a lot of information in English (though the tour was Spanish). Highly recommended, and the children in our group enjoyed it too.

Walichu Caves

The paintings on the rock walls of this cave are attributed to aborigines during the Paleolithic age, and have been restored where needed using the same ancient techniques.
