The delightful village of Watamu is an eco-tourist’s dream, lined with sandy white beaches and hotels dedicated to sustainable tourism. Watamu is a quick snorkel away from the Malindi Marine Reserve Park, and Turtle Beach is the ideal spot for a swim and a tanning session. The village proper features quaint Kenyan shopping stalls called dukas, where you can stock up with supplies. Make sure to visit the Gede Ruins, a mysterious and heavily overgrown 12th century Swahili village, and the beautifully fluttery Kipepeo Butterfly Project.

I was a little anxious about doing this trip alone but everyone was so friendly and I had so much fun. I opted to go snorkelling with a member of the boat crew. We were out for almost an hour and I saw the most amazing marine l upife. We were lucky enough to see some dolphins, although not for long. Lunch on Wasini Island was really good, plenty of food and the service was great. My overnight stay at Shimoni Reef Lodge was just perfect, the staff went out of their way to welcome me and make my stay memorable. The food was wonderful. I took the opportunity to visit the slave caves and was escorted there personally by Nyinge who worked at the Lodge, nothing was too much trouble. I would recommend this trip to anyone looking for a unique two day experience

We very much enjoyed an afternoon tour for two to the Marafa Depression (Hell’s Kitchen) that was tailored by Kish for us. It was timed perfectly as we wanted to be there for the sunset, and he also took COVID-19 precautions. The price, which we found reasonable for the distance (1.5 hours from Watamu) and included the entry fees and a local community guide taking us around at this amazing site. Kish was a great host in every sense, showing us spots around Malindi en route and bringing us around Watamu after the trip back in search of a restaurant. His company was a pleasure and we would not hesitate to recommend him to organise future trips.
In one day you can get to know the city of Malindi, with its markets, the hectic African life. To then cross the bridge and immerse yourself in the quiet of Robinson Island and be lulled by the sound of the sea. End the day with a trip to Marafa where Hell's Kitchen is the Devil's Kitchen, as it is hot during the day. You will be fascinated by the tale of the legend of the creation of Marafa, exploring its gorges on foot. You will end the day admiring a beautiful sunset.

An amazing place of its own, formed due to geological effects of the world. Both soft and hard-stones eroded by wind, rain and torrents forming Deep gorges and long Chimneys - I deal during sunset view.
A Watamu safari is characterized by powdery white sand, coconut palms, seabirds, marine life and bucket loads of sunshine. Derived from the word Tamu, ‘Watamu Tamu’ (tamu is Swahili for sweet) this destination will take your taste buds on a trip with every taste of Italian pizza, ice cream, and seafood. Luxury luxury as you chant 'Hakuna Matata' ( no worries) is the best way to enjoy a vacation be it that you are honey-mooners.
