We visited the Bunkermuseum in Hanstholm on a sunny, warm, late winter day. The museum is extremely informative and the many bunkers are well preserved and, as needed, restored. It struck us that those German military who were assigned to this post had relatively light duty, with spacious living quarters, dining areas, bathrooms with showers, etc. The front line foot soldiers of every nation would definitely want the comforts available here. The bunkers represent even more evidence of Hitler's love for concrete. While tha millions of cubic yards poured throughout France, in the Seigfried Line and elsewhere provided little defense against the Allied military machine, this outpost (which really did not see action during the war) is a testament to German engineering. The many weapons on display will intrigue even the most casual WWII military buff. It is well worth the visit.

A private art museum with a large collection of drawings and paintings, mainly portraits, by Kirsten Kjaer (1893-1985). Side galleries have changing exhibitions of contemporary local, national and international artists, and permanent displays of works of 1-2 resident artists, who use the museum workshops. Sculptures and LandArt works are usually on show in the grounds. Admission is free, voluntary contributions are welcome. The number of visitors per year is approx. 16.000.

Nice for a visit, to feel the windy and wild ocean. Nice stroll. Good view of local boats. Great combination of traditional fishing- and new hipster life. Nice activities such as surf school etc.
