Built in 1758 to guard a strategic port along a major transportation route, today this national site maintains an extensive archaeological collection and a nearly complete reconstructed Revolutionary War fort with interpreters.
The log fort is a wonderful reconstruction of the Revolutionary War fort. The Vistor's Center has very interesting displays and excellent films providing a good background to the history of the fort and the area. The Park Ranger was very helpful. Even the rain did not diminish the visit.

While this theater is a bit run down, the charm still shines through. I would go back for another event.

Fort Rickey is a special kind of zoo with a focus on fun and interaction. We understand that children learn best and remember best when they are actively engaged. We offer feeding and petting areas, a maternity ward with baby goats and animal shows featuring wolves, otters and snakes. A giant tube and tunnel maze with ball crawl and slides compliments the hands on approach.
Only open on the weekends in the Fall, we set our Sunday aside to visit Fort Rickey. With children ages 18 months, 3,7,and 12, there was something for each of them. The 3 and 7 year old loved riding trikes and pedal tractors through the while zoo! The "baby" and 12 year old loved the Maternity Ward and holding the baby goats. The middle two loved the hay maze. The ball pit and tunnels were loved by all. We all enjoyed the scheduled educational talks at various animal exhibits. If you're looking for a state of the art, modern zoo with tons of exotic animals this place is not for you. If you want a fun memorable experience, that the kids can run and play at and you can get up close and personal with many of the animals then start planning your trip. Some of what we saw...ferrets, capybara, wallabies, alpacas, snake, ponies, giant bunnies, black swan, white swan, ducks, pig, peacocks, lemurs, otters and tortus(away for winter),deer white and cute friendly brown.

Delta Lake State Park is a little gem! We had a wonderful time. The staff are really friendly, and go out of their way to make your visit pleasant. The grounds (three easy to maneuver-easy to park) consist of loops. Even if you aren’t fortunate enough to score a lake front site, the lake can be seen from most of the sites. The sites are clean, semi-treed, and roomy. The restrooms are cleaned numerous times per day - masks MUST be worn. The shower house is near the “B-Loop” and didn’t seem overrun with people. (Be aware: you must fill your water tanks at the dump station prior to parking. The only on-site amenity is electric.) We fished from the boat launch pier, and caught perch and pickerel. There is a fish hatchery and fishing on the Mohawk River just up the road from the park..about 3 miles. Fort Stanwix and The Battle Of Oriskany is also close by, for history buffs. This is honestly a nice little getaway! PS. When it’s pitch dark out, turn off your decorative lights and enjoy the twinkle of the thousands of fireflies in the pines. Breathtaking!

This is a FREE large park that is decorated throughout the trails with amazing sculptures. There is a decent sized parking area with port-a-potties. There are trails that will led you through and see all 22 sculptures. A map is available to look at in the parking area. Pretty even to walk though during the winter. A FREE Cool/ different daytime walk for anyone to do on a boring day.
