The legacy left behind by the Browns, a family of industrialists and collectors, is home to works by important French impressionists, an 18th century Venetian veduta collection and rare ceramics. The interior of the house with its French furnishings bears witness to the lifestyle of the family.

The Holzbrücke, a covered wooden bridge, crosses the Limmat, dates back to 1810. It had since the13rh century five previous buildings in the same place. They were destroyed by floods or wars. The Holzbrücke is among the most beautiful wooden bridges I’ve ever seen in Europe. The best view of the wooden bridge can be taken from the Hochbrücke (high bridge) , a modern bridge about one hundred meters up the river. The high bridge also affords a beautiful view of Baden’s medieval old town.

The Thermalbank, an eight-metre-long foot bath filled with thermal water, allows everyone to experience the richest thermal mineral water in Switzerland for free. The Heisser Stein thermal spring, one of 18 thermal springs in the Baden area, supplies warm spring water to the foot bath via an old underground wooden pipeline that flows freely with no need of a pump.
