The Center was founded in 1972 under the name Diving Center Nautico on the Playa de Meloneras and is therefore the oldest diving school in Gran Canaria. For decades, the diving school was located in a hotel in San Agustín. Since April 2019, the installations of Nautico can now be found on the former site of the diving school Dive Academie Gran Canaria. After the merger, the new name "Nautico Dive Academy" was born. Our second local you can find in the middle of Playa del Inglés. In addition to our friendly office and simultaneous training room you will find our OWN POOL directly in front of the base. The spacious outdoor area offers enough space for all other installations such as drying room, WC and our washing area for cleaning and drying your equipment. Free parking for our guests who come with a rental car, located in the immediate vicinity. Our training lessons and introductory dives start in our own pool with depths up to 200cm.

We are Scuba Sur, an international PADI and SSI Diving Center. We are operating in the South of Gran Canaria. We offer dive courses from beginner to pro, diving to several spots and snorkeling trips. We even have dive courses for children. For those who never dived before we have every day a free trial dive in the pool of the ANFI resort. This way you learn the beginning skills from diving and you get used to the equipment. Furthermore you can enjoy the Discovery Scuba Diving Course and experience a dive in open sea. If you like it you can continue to become a Scuba Diver or an Open Water Diver. Excellent wreck, reef and wall dives, diving from shore and from boats, waste no more time before experiencing the beauty and freedom of the weightless floating underwater.

I have spent two weeks visiting Arguineguin staying in a fully inclusive hotel. I preferred spending time with my husband exploring the rough unspoiled little town trying the restaurants, bars and sitting watching the views. You can find really good restraunts and bars in the area some serving local caught fish. Take some time to wander around the safe little town. The bar and restaurant owners are very friendly. Visitors staying in local apartments and hotels are predominately Norwegian, french and German, this is reflected in some of the menu's choices especially in the hotel I stayed in. The working port at the bottom of the town has its own restaurant which is a must to try its fresh fish and prawns. I was surprised to see a Spar shop on the main road overlooking the bay.The Spar had excellent choices of pastries and ready fresh salads, great to sit on the many benches looking over the bay and eat your snack at any time of the day. On a Tuesday morning, a very large market with assorted stalls selling leather bags, clothing, fresh fruit and vegetables is situated at the end of the town, just follow the road past the harbour and round to the left. The bars spill onto the road with plenty of tables available for a drink or lunch. Take a ferry from the harbour to Anfi or porta Morgan. walk the path from Arguineguin to Anfi, passing several little bays on the way. Make sure you stop off for a drink it gets really hot and the terrain is quite rough. If you are looking for a modern town with lots of sandy beaches this is not for you. It is a rough coast line with a few little rocky bays. There is a man made beach with beach beds and several restaurant 's near by which is great during the week but gets very busy at weekends. The bay near the town has black volcanic sand with beach beds for hire and quite safe for kids to paddle. If I visited Arguineguin again I would prefer to stay in a apartment.
