7 Art Galleries in Le Sud-Ouest (Southwest District) That You Shouldn't Miss

February 20, 2022 Darleen Reid

Montreal, c’est si bon! This French-speaking city is considered the cultural capital of Canada, and is a cosmopolitan celebration of Québécois style. A horse-drawn carriage ride around the cobblestone streets and grand buildings of Vieux-Montréal will give you a taste of European flavor. The Basilique Notre-Dame is a confection of stained glass, and the Plateau Mont-Royal district will delight you with its quaint boutiques and cafés. Dig in to a massive plate of poutine to fuel up for a tour of the epic Olympic Park.

The lovely Van Gogh exhibition was a big hit, but is now over, so onto other things.. Stunning Jean-Michel Othoniel exhib opened a few days ago and is like entering another world. Short documentary film behind black curtains also interesting (don't miss it). And Véronique Duplain's Selfie Project, 8th edition, exhibition shows how ambitious the art of selfie can be, with sets and costumes and scenarios as in a staged play, on view together with the end result photos.
