The Isle of Wight is the perfect place to enjoy some peace, quiet and natural beauty. Except perhaps in the summer, when the Isle of Wight Festival draws visitors from all over the world. In 1970, the Festival was the largest rock-music event ever held. It was called Britain's Woodstock and featured Jimi Hendrix and The Who. (Not so much peace or quiet that week.) The island is also known for its world-famous sailing and lovely resorts, where people have been vacationing since Victorian times.

Social distancing measures in place - Online Booking Only
Fantastic day out. Myself, and two grandchildren had the BEST experience today at the park. From the moment we arrived we were made very welcome by Beth. The weather was cold but sunny and the water temperature was 11 degrees. We were apprehensive but were well kitted out in the parks wet suits and socks and before we went in we were given a safety briefing. We had great fun on the inflatables and it was very obvious to me that the lifeguards were well on the ball checking numbers in the park on regular occasions. The hot showers were very very welcome and other members of staff, Michael and Joe were great. We will be back. Thanks guys????

Lose yourself in the Land of Imagination at Blackgang Chine…the UK’s oldest amusement park where you step out of the everyday and into a magical world where the only constraint is your own creativity. Explore a world like no other where you truly can be whoever you want to be. Round up giant beasts as a courageous dinosaur keeper in Restricted Area 5; cast spells from your own castle as a magical fairy in Fairyland; chose to be either an outlaw or sheriff as a rootin’ tootin’ cowboy in Cowboy Town; challenge your friends to a duel aboard a battle ship as a swashbuckling pirate in Pirate Cove; or come face to face with a 60ft whale as a deep sea diver in Underwater Kingdom…where will your imagination take you? Chances to brave an adrenaline-inducing roller coaster ride or speed down the waterslide, mixed with the wholesome nostalgia of Blackgang Chine’s quirky attractions, allow you to seamlessly experience classic adventure alongside timeless excitement.
We've been returning to Blackgang Chine for the past eight years. We visit the island every May half term holiday and never fail to visit Blackgang Chine. My son is now 13 and still really enjoys a day here. I love seeing how he changes back to being childlike when he is in the Cowboy Town! Myself and my mum also love it for the diverse range of activities (some quite random!!) and the gorgeous clifftop setting. It's a magical place for children and adults of all ages, and there is nowhere else quite like it!

On our annual visit to the IoW we have never been to Robin Hill. In actual fact the last time I visited was probably 30 years ago so I don't have anything to compare this visit to. The visit this time was my mum, son (8) and myself and we spent from 1000-2000 in the park and had a great time despite the showers (some of which were very heavy). Did pretty much everything the park had to offer including the ship (after 3 times I was feeling ill), the slides, toboggan run, climbing areas, feeding the ducks and carp, the wooden maze, falconry display, Jungle Fever and also the Cheeky Monkeys. To start with, the park opens at 1000 and we got there at 1000. Parking was easy and getting in was easy also. A slight queue but nothing major and because the park is so vast you don't feel as though other people are on top of you. That is always a good thing for someone who doesn't really like crowds. The park staff were very friendly and in one of the cafes (nearest entrance), I asked one of the young female assistants for a plaster for my son who had cut his nose (not in the park) and she was very obliging and caring too. This pretty much summed up all the staff we came across on the day. My son and I went on the toboggan run where there is a 1.50GBP charge per person but to be fair that isn't that much and it was a fun few minutes riding down the run. If you are unlucky like I was, you will end up being stuck behind a Sunday afternoon driver and not doing much above slow baby crawling speed. Still, it was all about the children and my son really enjoyed it. We ate and had a few drinks at Robin Hill purely because we had such a good day and were staying for the 1830 Jungle Fever. The food prices were what you expect and a bottle of coke was 2.20 GBP so not expensive and not cheap but just middling. The highlight the day was the Cheeky Monkeys show which was part of the Jungle Fever. The 2 performers (Josh and Chris) were so talented, professional, engaging and entertaining too. Their talents with fire juggling was superb and they had no fear. My son (Kai, 8) went on stage too and encouraged the crowd to say Ole and then my son picked me to be blindfolded. I won't say much more than that as it will spoil any surprises. Great show though and they could easily entertain for 2 hours. Nothing more to add here. It was a great day and I can see if there is a large family then it could be quite expensive but they offer a free 7 day return so if you are on the IoW for a while, then that is a great option. I think Robin Hill has some good ideas planned. The area is extremely clean and well looked after so what more can I say. Ah yes, watching the Geese, Ducks and Carp being fed was great fun.

Every time we come to the Isle of Wight we go back to the Needles, and we always have a lovely day. It costs £6 for a car to park in the main car park which is well organised. The site has the famous 2 person cable car £6 return, that takes you down to the beach. The first time you ride the cable car you might take a few deep breaths as you reach the top but there are beautiful views from there. The beach at the bottom is small and peebly, not somewhere you’d spend the whole day (the toilet or places to eat at the bottom) but if you’re feeling brave have a swim in the beautiful cold clear water. They have boat rides fast/slow to meet all tastes and you queue and pay. We tried the rib, which was lots of fun. Back up at the top of the cable car there are a few tourist shops, several different places to eat, the famous sweet making factors, make your own iow sand shop, alum bay glass making and shop plus a mini crazy golf and a few rides for little children. So many lovely memories can be made here and we always visit again and again, something always draws us back.
