Soomaa national park has few roads, that is why canoeing is a great way to explore the wilderness of the park. You will paddle downstreams by slow and quiet river, that runs through natural meadows, and floodplain forests. This one day self-guided canoe trip gives you the option to stop along the route and explore two walking trails near the river. These represent typical landscapes of Soomaa national park – alluvial forest (Lemmjõe keelemetsa Nature Trail), floodplain meadows and Estonian biggest peat-bog (Ingatsi Nature Trail).

Took the night beaver canoe tour Yesterday and had Aivar himself as a guide. We had a lot of fun and experienced the silent side of the park. Did not see Beavers but their nests and some birds and bats. Everything was well organised.

If you want to be close to nature, see a swimming sauna and experience true tranquility, then this is a must! We booked on very short notice and Aivar was very forthcoming and told us a lot about the land. Pick-up and drop-off at our accommodation went smoothly and the canoe was already prepared. Then it was just my boyfriend and I and pure nature around us! It was such a great experience to have the beauty and stillness of the nature around. The walk in the middle of the canoe trip was perfect to not be sitting for too long and the view at the end of the walk is beautiful.
