Near the banks of Lake Victoria, Kampala, the capital of Uganda, is a lively city with a long history. Before the British, the city was the capital of the Buganda Kingdom, and remains so to this day. The city sits on several hills, each housing an important government or religious building. Kasubi Hill is the home of the Kasubi Tombs, a sacred burial ground of Buganda Kings. The Uganda Museum sits atop Kololo Hill, and features a hands-on collection of traditional musical instruments.

Poor room, faulty toilets, Air Condition, squeeze rooms, very poor breakfast. Supplies in the room are inconsistently given, one day you have an item another day you do not have. The water flow has no enough pressure.

I stayed at Samweb Bed & Breakfast for two nights while I was in Kampala on business. I found the place easily using Bolt / Google Maps. Prossy the receptionist was very friendly and keen to know how she can improve guest services. The breakfast was simple local style breakfast of omelette, fruit salad and tea. The bedrooms and bathrooms are very clean and the whole compound is well lit. The owner has invested in good bathroom facilities. Although the guesthouse is on a busy main road, I felt secure. There is a 24-hour guard and CCTV. I stayed in the VIP room in the main building. Rooms are very affordable and at the back of the compound are small budget rooms.
