Hotel check In is 3pm , no movement on the time as they won’t have the room ready on time beforehand. Even if you ask nicely. Hotel has a small reception area and not much room . so you will find yourself waiting with other guests in busy periods at check in time. Our room smelt like cigarette, even though on the hotel listing says smoking permitted. I didn’t understand this ... as most hotels say smoking room or non smoking room. The walls had coffee splashed on them which was bizarre and I’m not sure why the cleaner did not spot this . Also the carpet is very dirty and also the dark brown color hides the hair on the carpet . I was scared to put my feet on the floor before going to bed , made me cringe. The duvet cover is a dark blue and is not like a usual hotel bed cover. It was full of white marks and also dusty. I don’t know how these issues can be overlooked by the staff. Bathroom is very small and you can barely comfortably use the bath or the sink area without banging your arm or body on something. Television has nothing English, only Japanese channels. Wardrobe is very small for only one night usage. Good thing is that they give you complimentary skin care kits on arrival which is a nice touch . I had not many options during golden week in Japan. So had to book this . Don’t think I would stay here again. He location is the only good thing about this hotel. They are lacking basic cleanliness and should at least spot dirt in the rooms before handing to guests. But the amenities is good and also the location.

This Hotel fairly new situated 5 minutes walk from Kayabacho and Hatchobori station, easy to get around. There were quite a few places to eat as well as 7eleven for basic snacks The Hotel was clean and neat the rooms are very tiny 17sqm in size, we had a room with 2 double beds accomodating 2 adults and 2 teenagers 4 suitcase's we just couldn't move.. The staff were very polite but not much english spoken so it was very hard to communicate, and obtain assitance.

We had a great week at City Pension Zem during our visit to Tokyo. This hotel is tidy and comfortable, and it’s close everything! Just a short walk away from 2 stations that can get you just about anywhere (Ningyocho and Suitenguame) and a short walk from several 7/11’s and a few good restaurants. We will for sure stay here again if we visit Tokyo in the future. Thank you!

The bed was very hard and I could feel the springs, so I folded the duvet in half, slept on one half and had the other half over me My room overlooked four busy roads, three of them overpasses right under my window so could be extremely noisy It's very handy for airport buses, as the terminal is just across the road. There are lots of shops and restaurants in the area If you don't put, the clean my room sign on the door, they don't go in, so if you want clean towels and coffee for the morning you have to pick them up from reception Not a bad place to stay before or after a flight

Basic amenities and provisions. Near subway and train station. Good for practical traveller or tourist who just want a place to sleep after a hectic tour. Cons -- not ideal if you are sensitive to cigarette smoke and if you are not amenable to common bathroom. Affordable and most ideal for practical nomads. A few stops away from most tourist spots and must-visit places.
