Beautifully located campsite
Reviewed By RiceCake778Perfectly located by the beach. Campsite is large and well set-up. There is controlled entry and plenty of sites. Each site is large. Multiple facility blocks. Well maintained and clean. Each site is also close to grey water dump stations and fresh water taps. Only thing to watch out for is saturated grass after heavy rain.

Located between Auckland and the Bay of Islands on the East Coast, between the stunning white sandy beaches of Waipu Cove and Langs Beach. Memories of live music wafting up the stairs as the sun sinks over the yardarm while the sheep amble home, the perfect breakfast Expresso and croissant, will linger long and ensure my return.

Reviewed By Lacr1sThis was our second time staying at the resort and we had a great time. The facilities are great, especially the heated pool and spa. The kitchen is well equipped; apartments are spacious and comfortable. Staff are friendly and accommodating.

Bed & Breakfast Accommodation with 180 degree views over Bream Bay and the Hen & Chicken Islands. Each spacious Room has French doors onto private patios where you can take in the wonderful views. Large Ensuite with heated towel rails, mirror in each room. Tea & Coffee making facility by room with refrigerater for your cold drinks. TV, Hair dryer Electric Blanket, Heater in each room. Swimming , Fishing, Golf close by. Excellent Restaurant 2 mins drive from the lodge. Also other cafes restaurants within minutes driving. We are 1.45 hrs. from Auckland . The perfect stay for peace and tranquility and beautiful sandy beaches. You will want to stay more than one night.

Reviewed By Bruce180852We stayed here with Rod and Audrey for two nights, what a fabulous place, huge room, big bathroom, with walk in shower, large comfortable bed, and one of the most fabulous views from your bed. Outside is a lovely patio, with table and chairs, to sit with a glass of NZ wine and look out at the Pacific Ocean. Your hosts make you so welcome, chatty, friendly and so knowledgeable of the whole of the North Island, nothing is to much trouble. We would recommend this B&B to anyone on tour in the Northern Island.

Reviewed By ChrisH472Quaint spot for a midweek getaway, the spa pool in the gazebo overlooking the estuary was a highlight. Room was nice enough, didn't really receive service during our stay as noone was there when we checked in and out, though check-in instructions were clear and easy.

Beautiful house, beautiful room, a lovely place to stay
Reviewed By JofromFrance1Strathaven is a beautiful modern house and my room was huge with great windows and window seats looking out to sea and a big deck in front. It is newly and tastefully decorated and immaculately clean and the shower room is very smart. The bed is extra-wide, very comfortable. Stephan and Judith were charming and I also met Louis the dog and the 2 cats. I did not use the spa bath on the terrace but went to Waipu Cove for a swim, less than 10 minutes away by car. Very nice fresh home baked bread for breakfast but only industrial packet cereals and jam, supermarket ham and yoghurt. But when I left Stephan sweetly gave me some apples from his garden. Thank you Stephan and Judith for a lovely stay, I only wished I could have stayed longer!
