Reviewed By Richard DI have to disagree with the previous reviewer. We arrived after a 9 hour hike across plomb de cantal and let me say we were very happy to see the hotel! Phillipe and Dominique were very professional and friendly and gave us some very good advice regarding our next days hiking as the weather had changed for the worse. The food was outstanding. The bed was super comfy. Sure.. the hotel is dated and could do with a bit of tlc... but you don't come to this part of the world for a club med! The quality of service was superb. I would definately recommend this place to other hikers and walkers. Excellent value and service. Merci boucoup!

Family hotel in scenic spot
Reviewed By Maggiemay07Wonderful views from this friendly and unpretentious hotel. Our room was pretty basic, and really on the small side, but we had booked late and possibly got the last available one. The room did have a tiny balcony however.. We really enjoyed our evening meal here: they seem to do traditional local dishes well: I liked my potée d'lAuvergne very much. Service was relaxed but not inefficient.

'Le Clou ' is situated in the picturesque village of Thiezac just 20 minutes from the ski station of Le Lioran. Direct access at the GR400 from Le Clou with snowshoes. We are located on 1098m directly at the GR400 at the volcanic mountains of the Cantal. In the winter start hiking directly from the Le Clou with snowshoes or go skiing to Le Lioran (60KM ski ) on 15 KM distance

Reviewed By ZKSaiSplendid weekend spent in Cantal lovely region at the home of Jan and Trijnie, welcoming and attentive hosts. Comfortable chalet, well equipped (kitchen, hot water), well heated and cozy with a nice little wooden terrace. Comfortable sleeping for 4 persons (including a bunk bed). Media addicts make sure to bring their own 4G only available in B&B part. Very pleasant and relaxing view on Cantal mounts landscapes, bird songs and nice hilled garden. A region rich in beautiful sights and balads. We loved the little mountain road to reach the chalet, with beautiful Salers cows to admire. Make sure to have snow chains in winter. Very appreciable for family with children or individuals looking to reconnect with nature.

Reviewed By Lysandre10Pour commencer, c’est avant tout une très jolie maison de caractère située dans un environnement magnifique en pleine nature du Cantal. Les chambres sont spacieuses, décorées avec goût et avec vue sur les montagnes cantaliennes. Lorsque nous y étions, les couleurs d’automne y régnaient pour notre plus grand plaisir. Et puis, c’est un accueil très chaleureux. Les propriétaires Véronique et Bruno, en plus d’être extrêmement conviviaux, sont très intéressants. Ils nous ont fait partager leur amour pour leur belle région en prenant le temps de nous expliquer les traditions cantaliennes et de nous conseiller différents parcours chaque jour. Nous avons presque été reçus comme si nous faisons partie de la famille. Ce fut un moment très agréable, détendant, ressourçant et instructif. Petit déjeuner copieux et délicieux. Nous recommandons fortement ce logement à tous ceux qui veulent découvrir le Cantal ou y retourner.
