A suprisingly nice experience
Reviewed By shadz1976I stopped there for a night during the drive back to Italy. The hotel has a great location with a superb lake view. Unfortunately, was there in winter, so cold weather. A brilliant add on is that the hotel is in the same building as a supermarket and a food market.. very funny is that it had the receptionist of the hotel is the cashier of the supermarket, a very friendly Italian girl. The town is small, but very nice. I had late lunch in a town nearby and dinner in a different town.

All good except arrival
Reviewed By pengemexWe were a family of four and wanted to stay in the same room together. On the phone I told them that one kid could sleep with the parents and the other on the sofa. They said it was not possible so we had to book two rooms (far from each other). When entering the rooms we saw that we were right, one room would had been enough. It was not a cost issue, but being together. Also it was strange that the hotel website cost was higher than the agency sites. The location is nice, great views on the lake, however a little off site if you want to go anywhere, you will need a car. Parking is hard on site. All staff members were very friendly and polite, except the receptionist lady at the check-in who was rude, unpolite, difficult and very slow. The rooms were fine, bathrooms were small and outdated. The place was clean. The beach area is great, free water equipments and play ground for the kids. Breakfast was nice, good meal on the terrace with stunning view. We could not have dinner as they were fully booked. They do not have reception after 9pm.

Very enjoyable and comfortable gasthof in southern Austria
Reviewed By Trip-Review01My family and I stayed at the Gasthof Ulbing for 3 nights. The owners, the Ulbing family were very accommodating. We stayed at half pension and the breakfasts and the dinners were wonderfully prepared--not your average meals, but prepared by quality chefs. The meals were served in a brand new restaurant room as the gasthof was also a restaurant. The rooms were very comfortable and had nice balconies. The hotel was well located and we were able to visit the places (Klagenfurt, St. Viet, Mt. Gerlitzen, etc.) that we were interested in seeing. We had a thoroughly enjoyable and comfortable stay at this fine gasthof.

You get fresh products from the farm and everything is fresh and made with care and attention! Also, the lady that took care of it all for us was extremely kind, we felt very welcomed and at home Will definitely come back!

Great Disappointment at the Top of the Hill
Reviewed By PairADoxCycleHard to find positive things about this place . Breakfast was adequate- not in any way very good but sufficed . Good bike storage garage . Staff/Owners were not overly friendly or helpful . Really nice German Shepherd in front to greet us . We did find an excellent restaurant right up the hill from this Pension . Hotel Thadeushof was really great with great menu menu and reasonable price point . Staff very friendly at the restaurant. The room at our Pension - #4 - was on the ground floor right alongside the entrance driveway with cars and people trooping by through the night and early in the morning. It was 48°F out that night and there was no heater and for that matter no heater available in the room . The bed felt like a uneven rock and the duvets were so thin and flimsy that we had to wear long sleeves and pants to bed to keep warm . When I noted this to the owner the next morning he said “ yes it was cold last night and we only use that room in the Summer “ . The room had a distinct perfumed smell which was at best, unpleasant And appeared to be attempting to mask the moldy bathroom smell and when we mentioned this and asked for another room the reception lady said that there were no other rooms available. The WiFi did not work ANYWHERE except in the breakfast room which was in the next building. We were told that it worked in the garden but it was raining and therefore we could not try it there . Very, very disappointing end of the day after a really great bicycle ride that day .
