We stayed here midweek on a deal booked direct with the hotel. Dinner, bed and breakfast & a deluxe room. The room (212) was extremely well appointed with huge super king 4 poster bed, large bathroom with a luxurious shower and a bath deep and enough for a 6ft plus individual to soak in. The restaurant was excellent with a great choice and exemplary service. The hotel has beautiful grounds and great walking nearby. Only downside, WiFi is appalling and I was not able to login despite staff’s best efforts.

20 family members for a Saturday lunchtime meal. All well presented and served, good size portions and quality of food. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the meal and occasion. My only issue is the place is very dated and desperate for a refurb. Will we return - yes.

Most comfortable place we stayed during our recent UK trip. Yes the rooms are pretty small (esp compared to American hotel rooms), but the beds felt like sleeping on clouds! This place has been updated in recent years and has amazing touches. Bathrooms are clean and new! Loved the great use of space in the rooms, like wall pegs and floating shelves. Honestly slept better here than any of the other 7 places we stayed. Matthew was an excellent host. Very friendly and helpful when we needed some extra bedding. We booked rooms 4 & 5, which are the two rooms with an adjoining vestibule. We needed that bit of extra space for our family of 4. The windows faced the interior side of the building, which was very quiet. The tea and coffee in the room were a great start before the excellent breakfast! Kudos to the chef for a delicious and filling full English breakfast. We will return to this hotel the next time we visit family in the area.

A newly refurbished hotel, restaurant, bar and cafe occupying a beautiful Grade 2 Listed Victorian building right in the centre of Sedgefield. The Hardwick Arms Hotel encases a historical courtyard which offers great outdoor seating area and direct access to the public footpaths providing great access to many famous walking routes and local attractions. Many of our public rooms and bedrooms overlook the main High Street giving a real view of village life. A stones-throw away is the picturesque Village Green situated in front of the Elegant St. Edmunds Church. Our individually decorated ensuite bedrooms include original wooden beams dating back to the 1700's in keeping with the historical building. The Hardwick Arms Hotel offers a bar and fine dining restaurant, plus a conservatory area available for private hire, meetings, business events and functions.
Owners of this venue went out of their way to accommodate my late check-in to the property, which I found spotlessly clean and very comfortable. A great location right in the centre of Sedgefield too. Tasteful décor and furnishings and an interesting old building. Excellent breakfast in a relaxed environment. Superb value for money and highly recommended. Looking forward to my next stay !

Beyond the stone courtyard seating, to the rear of the restaurant, sits the old brick Coach House, where you’ll find 10 carefully crafted, subtly themed rooms all with individual names and an intriguing tale or two behind them. The rooms are set over two floors and are spacious with high specifications. The first-floor rooms feature 7-foot wide beds you’ll want to hog, and spacious freestanding b
