Location: Fantastic. Short walk to pubs, restaurants, the local high street and a stunning church and grounds as well as the surrounding area. The village itself is picture perfect. Staff: Beyond helpful. Beyond friendly. Fantastic service. Food: Perfection We and a huge number of our wedding guests stayed at the old bell prior to our wedding in Purton. The service from booking to postponing at least twice due to Covid, to actually arriving at the venue was second to none. I had organised a ladies only dinner with at least 14 of us and the restaurant was fantastic. Everyone commented on the food and the service. The rooms and the hotel have been recently refurbished and they are gorgeous. I did not have one guest make a single even slight comment other than: We're going to stay again. At times like this with hospitality venues bemoaning a shortage of staff, the old bell exceeded all my expectations which were very high as we had stayed prior to Covid. Thank you to everyone at the hotel. You literally took all the stress of the occasion away and we cannot thank you enough. Fuzzy also thanks you for removing her from the loud dining room where an old lady dog does not enjoy sitting with a bunch of loud tipsy women. We will be back!

Whatley Manor is a grown-up getaway in the heart of the Cotswold’s with sustainability at its core. We fully believe we can offer our guests a wonderful 5-Star experience whilst also being ethical in our operations, to be a force for good at this defining time for our planet. We wish to encourage our guests to come along on our sustainability journey with us. We hope our eco credentials and the whole setting, cuddle you from the moment you arrive. We have made many positive changes, for example, you won’t find single use plastic in our bedrooms and we have challenged all of our suppliers to vastly improve our local supply chain and reduce their packaging. We have also achieved Zero to landfill. Above all we have worked hard to bring the team on the journey with us and implemented training programmes to help. Set in 12 acres of gardens with 26 distinctly different areas there are plenty of reminders for us to preserve our own corner of the planet. The 45,000 strong bee colony help us with this! Dine in the casual setting of Greys Brasserie or in the refined Two-Michelin Star Dining Room. Some Spa time is also a must. The oak gates slowly open as you approach Whatley, and from that moment onwards the pace is set. Relax and recharge in style, safe in the knowledge that Whatley is doing its bit to reduce the impact we have on the environment.
What an absolutely amazing hotel. I have stayed at several hotels across the UK similar to Whatley Manor but this stands out in the crowd. The staff made us feel so welcome from the moment we arrived. Attila, the duty manager, was absolutely great on both days and added to the experience for us both with a tour around the facilities to begin our stay. We arrived at 1pm and had no expectation that our room would be ready given our 3pm check in time, but it was ready for us which was a great surprise. The staff kindly offered to get our bags from the car and bring them up to the room, which we gratefully accepted. A great touch and the gentlemen were extremely pleasant upon arrival at our room. It was my birthday over the weekend and the staff had a pre written card and cake for me in the room, a very classy touch that once again added to the experience. We pre-booked dinner in the Dining Room and I couldn’t be happier that we did. The food was incredible. It started with us being offered drinks outside in the grounds from the impressive cocktail menu. The wine list is vast and spans all price ranges with something for everyone. We went for the journey wine pairing with the dinner which featured 8 different wines coupled to the different dishes we were served. The wines were different and often ones we hadn’t tried before, for example a Chinese red and a Lebanese white, but they were perfectly matched to every dish with the flavours fully complimenting one another. Upon finishing our cocktail, we thought we would be shown to our table. Instead, we were taken to the Michelin Star kitchen to have 2 small dishes with the staff. Not only was it extremely well run and efficient, but immaculately clean. I was impressed to see every single dish being approved by the head chef prior to it going to any table. The head chef personally wished us well as we left the kitchen to be seated. The food from there on in was nothing short of spectacular. Every course was great in its own right. Service from the staff in the restaurant including the waiting staff and sommelier was 10/10. Breakfast in bed was offered to us at no extra charge which we were extremely impressed with and, of course, took the staff up on the offer. It arrived exactly on time and was excellent. We filled in what we wanted the night before on a sheet in the room and left the note outside the door. The Spa facilities are very good. We personally found that it wasn’t very busy which was nice. There was access to the spa through the hotel, meaning you could leave your room in your robe and not feel awkward. Overall, we were both extremely impressed with Whatley Manor. The standout feature is the service which is second to none and the excellent food. We WILL be back.

I rarely write reviews... We stumbled across this place on the way back from a business meeting, so popped in for a soft drink. We decided to try the food and went for the burger and wow... probably one of the best I've had. Its refreshing to see that it was very obvious that the chef/team had thought about each element and the end result was amazing.. the amount of places I've been to and been dissapointed when the food on offer could be replicated by someone not in the industry. The food was top notch! ? will certainly be back and telling foodie friends about this gem.

Perfectly located with friendly staff and a lively atmosphere. Our room was above the alleyway entry to the car park, small but efficiently laid out with a slope to the floor that befits such an old building. Really comfortable bed. Surprisingly quiet!
