We had our own private cottage that we parked next to. There were two bedrooms, a living room and dining area and a full kitchen. The hotel was close to the fortress and the lighthouse, both were why we were there. Also it was close to restaurants.

Hadn't planned on stopping in Louisbourg but it happened. Stopped at the Fortress Inn and was pleasantly surprised. It feels and looks like it's been recently renovated. Very clean and wonderful beds and linens. The gentleman on the desk could have smiled though. Overall good experience ??

Beautifully appointed house (c. 1886) with generous sized guestrooms each with its own balcony/veranda. Situated in the very center of town and close walking distance to restaurants and the Louisbourg Playhouse (music hall). Access to kitchen (non-cooking) with refrigerator, tea/coffee, ice etc. Breakfast served at our sister property, the Louisbourg Harbour Inn.
We stayed here for 3 nights, the last to weather hurricane Dorian. We had the “Matthew” loft suite which was enormous. Parker is a wonderful host and is very accommodating. Breakfasts were served in the other b&b and were large & delicious. We were glad to be in this old house through the hurricane as it weathered it well. We loved our stay and highly recommend.

We are the only accommodation property in Louisbourg with water frontage and private beach for your relaxation and recreation pleasures. We stayed at Point of View Suites for two nights in mid October. Our room was on the second floor corner. A flight of stairs led up to a clean, spacious modern suite with kitchen. The suite and the small balcony have superb views of the bay and the fortress in the distance. No noise issues either and never heard our neighbors. Save and convenient parking right outside. The breakfast available in the reception building was excellent. Service was helpful and forthcoming. I would highly recommend staying here when visiting Louisbourg. The fortress was about 15 minutes away. Apparently the hotel was just starting on renovations and will be even nicer next year.

As we drove up, we could tell that the picture online must have been taken some time ago. The building needs painting as do the back stairs which you have to use to get luggage in the building. The view of the harbor is obstructed by ugly industrial buildings. We were put in room 1. It is a nice sized room with a sitting area. Bed was good. Unfortunately, the bathroom was tiny- the smallest sink I've seen and there was mold in the shower. There was only one other set of guests and they were put in the next room. Why? They got up earlier than we did and the running water in the bathroom sounded like it was in our room. It was also noisy at night with the wind blowing. We went to the owner's cafe in town for dinner. It is just one year old and the food was good. Breakfast at the Inn was very good. The town is depressed - not too nice to walk around. Although the reservation print-out said there was a tv in the room, there is no tv on the property. This was a big disappointment for us as we really wanted to see a sporting event. The owner was very understanding and was gracious in refunding our next night's stay so we could get to a place with a tv. We appreciated his understanding.
