I have been to this hotel multiple times over the years and it has steadily declined to a shadow of its former self. It must be why it was downgraded from a regular Hilton to a Doubletree. First, the exterior. The parking lot is so in need of repaving and lining you can barley tell where to park. It is cracked with weeds popping up. Not exactly welcoming. As you approach the entry there are four flower bed pillars - two on each side supporting the awning entrance. None of them have flowers in them. They are just black with some bags and bits of trash. The smoking area is just 10 feet from the entrance. There are a noticeable amount of cigarette buts on the ground that didn't make into the but can. Also next to the main entrance of the restaurant is a garbage can that is stained with some sort of liquid. Maybe puke. With a noticeable amount of liquid on the ground around the can. I went back there ~12 hours later and it had not been cleaned! There is also a sad flower pot next to the garbage - nice location - with nothing in it but dirt and a partial twix rapper. Still there ~12 hours later. The brick pavers around the entrance that are supposed to make the hotel look nice are in terrible condition. 20 % of them are cracked or completely broken. Careful not to trip on one walking in. Even though I arrived on Memorial Day evening when the hotel was dead, they put me on the top floor, in the room furthest from the elevators. When you have to make that walk multiple times a day in muggy hallways with tattered carpets it gets annoying. The windows in the hallway leading from the elevator are so sun damaged and dirty you can hardly see outside. There was an empty bud light bottle on the window sill at 6pm yesterday. I just passed by at 5pm a day later - still there. The hhonors Wifi is also a joke. I get faster service on my cell phone. If you are hoping to watch some Netflix on your iPad. Think again. At least there are on demand movies available for $19.99 + tax! I thought ugh, lets see what they have in the classic section. Found original Top Gun, and thought, I wouldn't mind checking this out as I'm going to the new one with my son this weekend. Same price. $19.99 + tax for a movie released in 1986. Outrageous! So I just watched some news and sports on their maybe 40 inch TV. In an age where a 70 inch TV is $500, you'd think they would upgrade. However the built in cabinet would have to go as it wouldn't fit. The chair wont stay in the upright position and even at its tallest position i'm still typing up onto the old chipped desk. The rest of the furniture is also old and in need of a major upgrade. I can't imagine anyone has sat on the couch for months. I used it as my luggage holder as there was none in the room. The AC in the room was also not working. I turned down the wall thermostat as low as possible but all that came out was warm air. Had to call maintenance. It was a very hot day in Chicago and the room was probably really 80 degrees - although the thermostat said 62. Had to wait in sweat for 30 mins for the man to arrive. He did fix it, but it had to be adjusted on the actual unit. So I ask what is the wall thermostat for. He just shrugged and left. Had to turn it down to the lowest setting. Took about 2 hours before room finally cooled down to normal levels. After working all day I thought I would go refresh and have a swim. Once arriving at the pool the dirty towel bin was over flowing and there was luckily 1 fresh towel left. Nobody in the pool. Then I noticed the water was a greenish color the deeper it got. You could not see the bottom in the deep end. The hot tub looked like at tired chipped old thing, so instead of risking an infection, I decided to pass on the swim. I was annoyed enough at this point to go to the front desk and complain. There was 1 guy working behind some plexi glass. I told him of the pool and he says, Sir I was not aware of that. I will let engineering know. I'm like ok, that is going to take days to resolve a chemical imbalance. Not going to help me and my swim. He just repeated I'll have engineering look at it. Offered nothing for the inconvenience. Maybe instead of standing behind the front desk with nobody around, you might want to do a walk of the grounds. The pool is on the ground floor and a 1 min walk from the front desk. He was unaware though it was disgusting and un-swimmable. It is cheap. That's about the only positive. But like most things, you get what you pay for. I will not be staying here again!! And do yourself a favor, and pass on this pathetic attempt at a Hilton (oh yah now Doubletree)

317 suite-sized guestrooms have a queen size sofa sleeper. 20 meeting rooms including 5 panorama conference rooms and an executive boardroom, ballroom, and pavillion. Located 26 miles from downtown Chicago and conveniently located near both O'Hare and Midway Airports.
Outstanding service with a smile from the 'bell captain' to front desk check in, managerial staff, housekeeping and beyond! Great place to relax, rest and then visit the nature of the Morton arboretum!

Nasty check in person, no refrigerator even though it was promised. One towel in bathroom of a double room. When asked for more I was told to come to desk to get it. Asked for the n anager....still waiting. Generally unhelpful staff and poor service.

I stay here from time to time. I travel for business and personal. The staff is always so friendly and dedicated to making my stay comfortable. I feel the room is up to date, for an older building. Everything is clean and the bed is very comfortable.
