Things to do in Kaduna

Situated in a quiet residential area and is kind of secluded. WiFi was very good (surprisingly so given past experiences with other Kaduna hotels). Didn’t try their food though because of time constraints. The room was properly cleaned and the air conditioning can get extremely cold (properly serviced). Will definitely be back there if the need arises

I stayed here for few days. Except for the regular power supply from the standby generator, the other facilities are in a poor states. The towels and the bed sheets are old and need changing. Throughout my stay, I could not access the internet facility. Guest are not please as a result of nonavailability of internet facility. It is not a place I would want to stay again. There is no room dedicated for smokers hence, some room reeks of cigarette smoke.

Stayed a night at the hotel and I will say it was just an average experience for me. It is a fairly large hotel by Kaduna standards with a large compound area though very little is green. Rooms are fairly sized and beds comfortable but I struggled to get hot water in the bathroom and then I was amazed that I had to use a bucket and bowl to have a bath rather than a shower. It seemed so pre-historic. First time I have experienced that in decades. Meals were slightly above average and lots of options were presented. Overall it was an average experience.

My experience here was not pleasant, I had one meal in 2 days due to the lack of service. I felt weak and tired after my stay there. - Service is terrible - Attitude toward patrons is bad - Restaurant waiters are more like spectators - I never once received a meal or drink in there other than the complimentary breakfast (which is hideous). Breakfast is a self-service, but they consistently don't replace 75% of items so you can never get a proper breakfast. I was able to muster together some stale bread and put honey on it. Just utterly useless staff and management. - Wifi is extremely poor - I found the Gym staff to be weirdly restrictive. They made me jog slower on the running machine, saying I was going too fast and was not allowed to do so. Also when I used the multi-gym they made me half the weights or they would not let me continue. - Water pressure is ridiculously low so that the shower isn't useful most of the time. - extremely HARD MATRESSES - It will not leave you rested and most likely have an aching back. Plus side, it has some recently refurnished executive rooms that are reasonable to stay in apart from the mattress.

Looking for basic accommodation in Kaduna; the Orange Groove is an option. No frills, rooms are well appointed and clean, bed is good. Bathrooms are basic. Restaurant offers basic meals. Didn't have wifi. So if you want a bed and a good nights sleep travelling through Kaduna then the Orange Groove provided a budget option that is quite and off the busy road.
