An interesting experience I wouldn't necessarily repeat. The lobby was cute but the private cottage was in need of some serious TLC. Broken tiles on the floor and a sink with a leaky drain in the bathroom. AC was a diy project complete with creative cardboard placement to fill in gaps. And the most alarming thing was the carbon monoxide alarm being about 7 feet off the ground in a room with a gas stove heater. Thankfully our stay was only one night. the staff were friendly and the main building was so cute that it was really disappointing to have to stay off property in a room in need of repair instead of in a historic room in the main building.

The Hotel is quiet and very comfortable - the proprietor listens and the restaurant staff is positively outstanding, the food is good and the location is the best for area attractions that include Columbia State Park, Lake Melones, the Rail Museum state park and many other gold country attractions The beauty of this hotel is that there is simplicity that makes for a wonderful stay, as worry free as can be

Located in the center of Historic Downtown Jamestown, in the Sierra Foothills. Gateway to Yosemite National Park, High Sierra, Big Trees, and Scenic Caves. Near Columbia State Historic Park, Railtown 1897, and Dodge Ridge Ski Area. Adjacent to historic Gold Rush towns of Sonora, Jamestown, Chinese Camp, and Columbia. Take your pick of fun activities such as boating, fishing, water skiing, swimming, white water rafting, or horseback riding during the summer months, or skiing, snowboarding, ice-skating, or sledding during the winter months.
The staff are extremely unprofessional, I booked through a travel site (and paid) which said room type hotel chooses— The guests were 2 adults and 2 children and every other hotel has always given a room with two beds. The woman forced us to pay $25 extra which made it higher than the rate had I paid there. They have no computer so if you extend your stay they are not aware. When I informed the lady I had done it through the site she acted crazy was very rude and said we had to get out now. When I went down to speak with the owner and to inform him of the way we were treated he then flips out screaming get out get out you cannot stay. The most unprofessional uncomfortable experience I’ve had and i am in hotels 9 months a year. On top of it all the rooms were not even cleaned well. I will post a photo of the toilet how it looked when we arrived — don’t think they are cleaning the most bacteria filled area well and that is disgusting. Also the lady allows her dog to just run out no leash no consideration for guests and the dog growled at my 5 year old. I believe she lives there and does not really know how to do her job. Also when leaving a man in the parking lot said to be careful leaving things in your rooms because the cleaning staff (also lady at desk and others) have been known to take things It’s unfortunate as it is a cute motel and a good spot hopefully it is sold someday as it could be a great hotel . I would rather sleep in a car than stay here Photo is behind the toilet and wall

The Victorian Gold Bed & Breakfast, located in Jamestown California, is reminiscent of fine European bed and breakfast hotels and offers eight unique rooms, all with private baths. Our lodging is quietly located one block off Main Street in Jamestown, and embodies the grace of the past with the addition of modern comforts: air conditioning, TV, internet access and private off-street parking. Our Victorian era bed and breakfast is the perfect vacation spot and is also a wonderful location for a wedding or honeymoon.
The building is in decent shape, but you can see that it needs some attention/maintenance. There was a general lack of attention to detail evidenced throughout our stay. Check-in is at 3 pm, which is about when we arrived. The front door was locked and nobody came when we rang the bell. When I called the number posted, the person who answered told me he would have ‘a guest’ let us in. Finally an elderly gentleman who didn’t speak English came and let us in. Upon entering, I noticed that the building smelled of curry and garlic, as if the family who ran it were making their midday meal. I came to learn that all the public rooms and hallways smelled like that at all hours of the day (our room did not, perhaps because the door was kept closed). There was a random TV sitting on the floor in the hallway (it never was moved), the carpet was dirty, and the room was freezing. A teen/young adult arrived soon after to check us in (turns out it was her grandfather who let us in). She was very nice, but flustered and seemed trained just enough to be able to run my credit card. I had booked the room with two bathtubs, and we immediately turned on the small space heater to try to warm up the room, and decided to draw baths. No hot water. Back out to ask about that. The young woman turned on the water heater, I guess, and told us it would only be 10 or 15 minutes to heat it up. We waited about half an hour before trying again, and yes, there was hot water, but not enough to fill two tubs. Also, one of the tubs had some grime on it, apparently left by the previous guest. I also found a random child’s plastic drinking cup in the armoire where the extra linen is stored. The breakfast, described on the hotel’s site as including an egg casserole, waffles, and biscuits and gravy on Sundays, was….not that. It looked like the family had pulled a few cereal boxes and half-used loaves of bread from their pantry and plopped them on the table for the guests. There was not even any coffee or hot water, and the flustered young lady, when summoned, didn’t know how to use the coffee maker (we couldn’t figure it out either). We packed up and left, hungry and un-caffeinated.
