Please be aware of the following, the photos you see online bear no resemblance to the reality of this hotel: Positives first - our deluxe room was nice apart from the unfinished concrete ceiling Milena on reception is lovely and tries to help. Our room was very clean. That’s the positives done! - the pool is not owned by the hotel. It is down and across the road and is used by several hotels and the public can pay to go in. It was jam packed and you couldn’t swim in the pool due to the number of people standing in the pool with their drinks. The music was really loud and banging. The pool water was cloudy not clear due to the vast number of people. We asked for towels but they had run out. All around the pool and the deck area where empty drinks and plates. No one appeared to be tidying up. The pool is only open between 10am and 6pm. - to get in the pool you need a voucher from reception, you have to collect a new one everyday. And only Milena is in reception you have to join the queue of guests checking in and checking out. You can queue for a while! -there is building work going on on 2 sides of the hotel. There are 2 large cranes and diggers. At 7ish in the morning the diggers started and it sounded like they were piling the ground. It was so loud you could not sit on the balcony. The hotel manager advised there was no building work and it was just a delivery! Hopefully I can upload the video! - the dining room is In a room with no windows and again jam packed. - there is NO outside space belonging to this hotel other than your own balcony. - the bar and reception is one area. It’s really small and the bar seating area is used by guests as a waiting area with luggage - the gym is in the basement, again no windows and the space is tiny, the phots taken by the mirrors make it look larger than it is. If it were a bedroom at home you’d only for a single bed! - the hotel is down a side street, the view from the balconies is over looking a building site. The manager offered for us to use the pool at the Bay View hotel, he said it was only busy due to a feast day, however it was still busy on the next day and I spoke to the pool person who advised it’s always really busy on Fridays, Saturdays or Sundays so you need to be early to get a lounger by the pool. The bay view hotel is 2 properties down, the pool is on the roof and I would describe it as a plunge pool not a swimming pool. Not what I wanted. Due to the building noise and the swimming pool we checked out after one night and I have had to pay £1200 to move to a better hotel for 6 nights. We booked with Jet2 and they have been awful. You can’t actually contact a resort rep direct and have to go through a UK call centre.

Conveniently located a stone’s throw away form the Sliema Sea Front, Urban Rooms provides top quality accommodation in the centre of Malta, easily accessible by all public transport from across the island making it much easier for our guests to commute throughout their stay. The hotel is within walking distance of shops, entertainment, nightlife and regular ferries to Valletta. Urban Room’s 15 suites cater for couples, individuals and business travelers. All rooms are equipped to a high standard of interior design and amenities. Wi-Fi is also complementary in all rooms and public areas. Each room has a safe to secure your personal belongings, a flat screen TV as well as a telephone to contact reception and any other external numbers. Guests also have an empty mini bar to use in the room along with a state-of-the-art coffee machine. On the highest floor guests can make use of a kitchen and a roof top terrace with a jacuzzi. Whilst staying at Urban Rooms guests benefit from having the privacy of a smaller property while still being fully serviced by the main property 115 The Strand Hotel & Suites which has a 24hr reception. All facilities of 115 The Strand can be used by Urban Room's guests like Executive Lounge access and use of the Wellness Centre. The property also benefits from being directly opposite our Italian restaurant, Grana, which is elegantly furnished with a modern flair. Located within the hotel grounds, the restaurant offers a daily continental buffet breakfast between 07:00 and 10:30 as well as a traditional Italian cuisine for lunch and dinner, from 12.30 onwards.
Nice hotel, pictures are misleading with views and facilities. Indoor pool is essentially non existent and outdoor pool is not theirs and public can pay for it but is great. Rooms are nice and cleaned everyday which was lovely but no view in urban rooms is of the sea as it is behind the main hotel 115 the strand. Best view is the attached picture from the roof where the shared jacuzzi is (you don’t have your own or a balcony of your own as pictures suggest)

Hotel Kennedy Nova is a four-star, pet-friendly, seafront hotel situated in the heart of Malta’s coastal resort of Sliema, one of the most popular resorts on the island making it the perfect holiday location with spectacular views of Marsamxett Harbour from the roof-top terrace and swimming pool. The Hotel is conveniently located to Valletta and offers both comfort and convenience for visitors to the island in varied accommodation comprising Standard Rooms, Family Rooms, Superior Rooms, Seaview Rooms and Apartments.
So when I booked a balcony room I wasn't figuring on a Juliet balcony looking across to other rooms. The room was clean, bed okay and shower was fine. Breakfast was fine and plenty of items to choose from including hot and cold food. Glad I only booked for a night before flight home though.

The daily room service is terrible. On more than one occasion used towels were not replaced by the correct number of fresh ones. Once, when we pointed it out almost immediately, the girl returned over two hours later with the missing clean towels. At least once, it was obvious that the drinking mugs had not been washed. The girl just said “Oh, did I forget ?” Because the mugs had distinctive marks on the bottom, I then discovered that they were not being taken away and replaced with clean ones, but were apparently being cleaned (not very well - just a rinse) in the bathroom. Not satisfactory. The container fixed to the wall in the bathroom which holds the toilet brush is half-full of water. Not hygienic. The liquid soap dispensers in the shower are not labelled, but contain different coloured liquids, presumably shampoo and body wash ? My wife and I both have short, white / grey hair, so we cannot understand why we find long dark brown ones on the floor of the bathroom and bedroom. The timing of the room cleaning is so varied that we cannot be sure when it would be done. We don’t like to be disturbed if we are resting in the afternoon. On our first day, Reception told us it was after 10.00. Another day we were told it was between 16.00 and 18.00. Once we were visited after 18.00, when we had been out all day and were relaxing in our bedroom. On another day the room had not been done by 18.00, and as we did not want to be disturbed we asked just for the towels to be changed. The bathroom does not have glasses for toothbrushes, which is normally the case internationally. Other international hotels encourage re-use of towels to save water, etc. (by notices in bathrooms) and ask for towels required to be changed to be put on floor of shower. Also, no ‘spy hole’ in the door, which most hotels have for security. ‘Fire Exit’ signs are not clear on all floors. The balcony door does not lock from the inside, and the curtains do not close properly. I thought the room safe was broken, until I checked with Reception who told me I had to place a deposit on a removable lock and key. When I returned with a credit card I was told ‘cash only’. Why wasn’t I told this on my arrival ? There are no hand rails around the steps to the small heated pool. Only shiny slippery tiles with straight sharp edges. The shower surround and screen in that area do not close properly, allowing water to slosh around the floor around the adjacent toilet. Ugh ! The heating elements of the sauna are not covered. Wooden panels around it are fire-scorched. The sand-timer is very inaccurate. The five minutes shown in reality was nearly twelve. That’s it !

NSTS Campus Residence and Hostel is located on the Gzira/Msida border, adjacent to the University of Malta sports complex perimeter. It within 10/15 minutes by public transport to the capital city of Valletta. A friendly atmosphere among staff and residents are its top characteristics. Its young environment and low prices makes the hostel the ideal place for budget backpackers, independent travellers and students alike! Discount student rates apply for long lets of over 12 weeks.
The hostel is not far from public bus stations and about 3 km from Valletta. We had a private double room, which was very simple but clean. The bathroom was private as well but external, across the room. There are magnetic door cards instead of keys. The wifi was correct as the breakfast, which was simple but various. There is a drinking water available in the breakfast room all day long. The hostel is usually full of teenagers and students, so it could be sometimes a bit noisy. There is an outdoor pool in the yard.

The apartment I was offered was very nice, very clean, spacious, and comfortable. The apartment was just a few steps away from a hotel in a new building. I had a lot of space to spread out and relax. The apartment offered all the amenities I needed, such as a fully stocked kitchen, air conditioning in both the living room and in the bedroom, a washer, and fast WiFi. The hotel front desk staff was very polite and helpful. Near the apartment, there are many shops, restaurants, groceries, ATMs, and other conveniences. I would definitely stay here again.
