Smyrlabjörg is family owned country hotel between Jökulsárlón and Höfn. We offer 52 rooms all with private bathroom. Triple rooms and family rooms are also available as double and single rooms. Meals are available for guests in our restaurant; in summer time we offer a dinner buffet and a menu. In low season we only offer menu. On the menu we use local products from our local farmers, and all fish and lobster we buy in Höfn. We really hope you will enjoy your stay.

Reviewed By BearTravels33I was on a 2-day tour and this was our stop. The room was good size but the shower was very small. Common areas could use an update. You are just sleeping there so it was adequate for that. Nice and quiet due to the remote location.

The guesthouse has 24 double and triple rooms as well as family rooms of hotel standard, all with private facilities. Reviewed By TeamlykkeAn overnight stay at Brunnhóll á Mýrum. We had booked a family room, but since they were renovating, we were offered 2 double rooms so we should not live close to where the work was being done. It was fine and there was no noise. Room ok. We ate dinner in the restaurant, where we also tasted the farm's own ice cream. Simple breakfast.

Reviewed By schliekHi guys, there are 2 family rooms (= detached bungalow) available. We booked one of them. Spartan, but spacious. And quiet. Beds are good. No kettle, no coffeemaker. No elevator. Nice view. Breakfast is modest, but good. Several kinds of sheep cheese. Diner is very good. The lamb is a good choice. We liked the quietness a lot. Regards Schliek PS some staff members speak polish

Nice guesthouse with restaurant and brewery
Reviewed By hanna718Stayed one night on a ring road tour. There are two buildings with rooms. One had two stories, 6 bedrooms, two bathrooms. The other is one story, but as I stayed in the two story building I am not sure of the setup. Main floor of the building had a kitchen area. No shoes in the housing buildings, though not all guests seemed to follow that. Room was decent sized, hairdryer provided in room. Shared bathrooms were fine, the one on the first floor had a more enclosed shower, I could see that the second floor with only a shower curtain could get wet. On site restaurant served dinner and breakfast, and its own brewed beer (two were on tap when I was there, plus one nonalcoholic). Breakfast, which was included in the price, had the standard cold options. Depending on your room (and the weather) you can see the glacier from your window.

Reviewed By OA-JaneWe were warmly welcomed at the guesthouse and the friendly hosts showed us everything in our room and the shared kitchen. We felt at home for the next 5 days. Everything is very clean and we didn't miss anything. The location is perfect to discover all of the many sights in the Southeast of Iceland.
