Welcome to Hertford House, a beautifully converted Grade II listed, Georgian Townhouse Hotel located in the Heart of Hertford town. Originally the Head Quarters for The Mercury, Hertfordshire's leading Newspaper. Hertford House has a rich heritage. The Loft rooms are set in the rooftop eaves of the building and include views across the Historical County Town. Classic on the outside and contemporary on the inside with 28 recently refurbished en-suite rooms. Our rooms boast Hypnos beds, Egyptian Cotton linen, duck and goose down duvets, air conditioning or climate control systems, bespoke upholstery, fully stocked mini bars and plenty of natural light. Each room comes with a flat screen TV, tea and coffee making facilities, complementary water and a la Carte breakfast. The Townhouse also boasts a well established hotel restaurant and lively bar, event space and cosy pub next door. Stansted and Luton Airports are just 30-40 minutes' drive away and Hertford East Railway Station is just 6 minutes' walk form Hertford House.
Sadly, we join a growing group of reviewers unfortunate enough to expect peace and quiet for an overnight hotel stay. We finally moved rooms at midnight to the third floor and could still hear the base through the building. What a shame, this could be a lovely place to stay, it has been designed and decorated with close attention to detail. The rooms were clean and comfortable but once the music in the bar & nightclub started, it became a nightmare. Staff are very aware of the porblem although no apology received in the morning. I presume an apology would be admission of a issue that this business model has failed to address.

All our rooms are beautifully decorated with brand new en-suites, fresh linen sheets and fluffy carpet. Guaranteeing you the perfect stay. Our Vintage Boutique rooms are different in size to fit the perfect occasion. We have an amazing tropical garden with pink flamingos and palm trees. All our food is locally sourced and freshly prepared and made to order. Located in the heart of Hertford.
From the moment we got there and were greeted by the friendly staff we knew we were onto a winner. Our room was comfortable and nicely decorated with a spacious en suite bathroom. The only downside was that to get to the room you have to negotiate a staircase with a very low ceiling.

Situated in a quiet, rural location, The Kings' House offers comfortable beds and delicious food, and is open throughout the year. We welcome visitors from all over he world.
We had a very comfortable one night stay with Jilly and Davy. We had the twin room which was very cosy with good beds and bathroom. Every thing we needed was in the room including fresh milk for our coffee. The cooked breakfast was excellent. Nothing was too much trouble. The house is in a peaceful Hertfordshire village with stunning views to the rear. We shall return.

Two Ways is a small B&B with three rooms (two doubles, one single) and a warm, welcoming hostess. I stayed in the spacious single room during a recent business-related stay. Val, the owner, is very kind and thoughtful. She adds such nice touches to the rooms, like snacks, magazines, and bottles of water. She took time to ask about my days and to introduce me to the other guests. The shared bathroom is immaculately clean and also large, including a separate bathtub and shower. Its location is nice, close walking distance to the town center, restaurants, and grocery stores. I would recommend this B&B for its price (particularly affordable for single travelers), cleanliness, and coziness. Two caveats: (1) there is no Internet or phone access in the B&B and (2) the toilet in the shared bathroom is a problem. It only flushes about half the time, if you're lucky, and all the guests had trouble with it. But otherwise, I felt at home in this lovely place.

Not enough characters to explain _____ our stay was ruined and out of pocket . Dirty apartment, not as they describe . Carpet needs a deep clean , toe nails and flys picked up by my 1yr old grandson , they had to send cleaner back , still not clean , had to do it ourselves with the help of family . Horrible company to deal with .., no empathy, no customer service ... they seem to think they do , but don’t .. offered partial refund that was then taken back , said I had refused it , never did . No hairdryer , couldn’t use dishwasher , riddled with germs , tricky using sink as no plug . Had to change all of our plans and eat out . We couldn’t get alternative accommodation , we would have stayed elsewhere if we could . We were offered alternative room , that was worse . When cleaner came back all she did was make excuses. This room was dirty and certainly not Covid ready . The promise they put on their portfolio is nothing like the reality of these apartments . Please DO NOT stay here . I have never written a review remotely like this ever , but cannot let this company profit from lies & poor customer service .

What a lovely pub, great location, nice atmosphere and really attentive staff. A few previous reviews would suggest otherwise but we had a really lovely family evening meal. Pub was busy and a wedding anniversary celebration was happening at the same time we were there, but we were still served quickly - both drinks and food. The food was really lovely and would definitely recommend a visit.
