Kumpeli is a diverse and comfortable spa hotel in the naturally beautiful Heinola, right by the stunning Tähtiniemi Bridge and near the city centre. Our hotel has 119 rooms, of which 2 are suites, 1 is a junior suite, as well as several superior rooms. All rooms feature a balcony or patio with a view to the lake or park. Parking facilities are available in the hotel yard free of charge.
A lovely, family-owned spa. Excellent views to the river (that looks like a large lake). Very friendly staff and few visitors (at least day-time on Wednesday and Thursday, when we visited). Just one wish: In the spa area there's a lot of natural light and moisture, so it feels totally useless that the plants there are plastic - there are so many real plants that would thrive there for sure!

We were there 5 nights in cabin. At first moment we felt welcoming feeling. Cabin was good enough with fridge and kettle. Common kitchen was very clean and big having everything you need for cooking. We had sauna two times (20euros / 1hr) and it was relaxing. Overall I recommend place highly.

Cronin's Guesthouse is an idyllic B&B in Heinola, south Finland with 6 comfortable rooms, a great summer bistro- bar with an authentic Irish-Finnish atmosphere. Your host, Marika Cronin invites you to come and experience her warm breed of hospitality and charming home - in the most beautiful countryside and lake district of the southern Finland, just about an hour's drive from Helsinki.
A very warmhearted welcome. We shared a few experiences, and we were told of the origin of the house. The room was very nice and comfortable. The morning breakfast was plentiful and excellent. A place to be recommanded.

This is one of the strangest hotels I have ever stayed in. It's a wing of a private hospital, and you are never far away from reminders that's where you are! The main hospital building is at least separate from the hotel proper, which contains the spa and 'spa treatment rooms'. Still, Valo's accommodation block has the feel of being a converted dorm for student nurses, which is what I assume it once was. The corridors and room entrances are nicely decorated, but my room itself was furnished in a spartan fashion, with a grey vinyl floor. The bathroom had been modernized, and was spotlessly clean. Reception was not open all night - I received an electronic key card to get in after hours. The cafe at reception was very basic: meat pies, chocalate muffins and coffee, plus a few prepackaged snack items. Breakfast was in the hospital canteen in the other building, which is accessed by an underground corridor that takes you via one of the hospital departments and a gym room available for guests. The breakfast was poor: felt very much like a Finnish hospital canteen breakfast ca. 1980 - watery orange 'juice', unappealing coffee, rubbery cheese slices, bread rolls that had seen better days (at least the one before), tomatoes that tasted of nothing, scrambled egg that looked and tasted like it was a synthetic biology experiment gone wrong. On balance, this was a disappointment, considering the price i paid (88 euros for B&B), and the fact that it is out of the centre in a lovely rural setting. Heinola is not well endowed with hotels, but I would not recommend Valo unless you are stuck.

Ike’s Cottages are located in Päijät-Häme, Heinola, in the middle of nature. All our accommodations are next to Konnivesi, covered by the bay of Ruukittomanlahti. The opposite shore is untouched, protected forest area. Every cabin has a private yard and a small dock with a rowboat. Come and enjoy the ecological cottage-life of finns with the clean nature and silence. All of our cottages are unique, so take a look at the available accommodations and reserve the one that suits your needs. Our top priority is that you can enjoy the clean nature of Finland – To fish, camp and relax during your vacation. Pets are more than welcome to all of our cottages with no extra fees or charges! We have seven different cottages for accommodation. All our cottages are located by the lake with private, quiet and sunny spot. Every cottage has their own rowboat and own firewood.
Old cottage, smaller than in the pictures and does not fit as many persons properly as in the description. No lights in the yard. ”With all amenities” actually means that the owen does not work properly and there is no dishwasher, bedroom light not working.

Huoneen lattiat täynnä roskia (sipsejä, juomapulloja, soraa, pölyä...). Käytävät ja huoneet tuoksuivat homeelle ja tunkkaisille. Kosteusongelmia? Koko paikka on jämähtänyt-80 luvulle.
