Beautiful House, amazing history,. The best breakfast I've ever eaten cooked by elite cheifs with a real passion for food. Would love to stay for a week. All the little things were catered for, fresh milk in rooms for tea. The best squidgy flapjack.

17th Century Family Run Coaching Inn at the heart of the Exmoor National Park. The ideal base for exploring Exmoor and all it's surrounding beauty. - 16 en suite bedrooms with modern amenities. - Cosy country bar and lounge offering casual dining with home cooked food using quality local ingredients. - Real ales, full wine list and select gins available. - Log fires in winter and outside dining available in summer. - Relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
Bar staff were friendly and helpful, but the food was disappointing. Fish and chips, the fish was of a set size and shape. If you want fish and chips, go to a fish and chip shop. The beef pie was excellent but had a small portion of bubble and squeak and instant gravy ( not red wine gravy as advertised). Expensive and not worth £ 48.85 (without drinks).

Tessa was a great host. She was very helpful and friendly. Our room was just amazing ! It was huge with 4 windows giving great views over unspoilt countryside. The largest bed I’ve ever slept in. The breakfast was a great start to the day with fruit, cereal, toast, coffee or tea and a spectacular full English. The location of a short walk out of the village was perfect too.

This was everything we were looking for in a getaway weekend. Set in a quiet location on the edge of Exford, this attractive cottage provided us with a lovely light room overlooking the beautifully kept garden. A friendly and helpful hostess who gave us useful information about the locality, nearby beaches, places to eat and so on. Delicious breakfast, lots of choice, with locally sourced ingredients including lovely eggs, fresh soft fruit and home-made bread, which fills the house each morning with its delicious smell. Very comfortable mattresses and a spotless (shared) bathroom with bath and shower. Glorious dawn chorus in the mornings. Lots of good places to visit nearby (for example we really enjoyed going round Dunster, which is just up the road) and some of the most beautiful countryside in England. Excellent value.
