This is not in Deba. If you are a hiker, it is a tough walk into Deba...not long, tough. The staff wasnt very helpful when I called, didnt even try to cobble our languages together. Waited for 15 minites before I cornered someone to check us in. There wasnt anywhere to wash and dry clothes after a rainy days walk. However, once we got in the room it was clean and large. It was a nice touch to get a free bottle of water! The restaurant was the only one open on a Monday, and it was packed. Gin tonics are a great value at the bar.

I only stayed for one night but it was absolutely beautiful. The next restaurant is a bit further away (by foot) but it's exactly that what made it so beautiful. It's surrounded by fields and forest so it's very quiet and refreshing. The people working there are fantastic (thank you again ;) ). Room was very clean, good decoration and it has a cosy outdoor area. I would totally visit again and stay a few days more.

Txindurri Iturri is a centenary farm, is a Cider House and is a perfect place to relax and enjoy with the nature of the grasslands, forests and coastal cliffs of the Basque Country.
My wife and I stayed here as part of the camino del Norte. It’s a bit off the path (approx 1 mile) so our legs were not happy, but the owner Alex was very warm and friendly. He gave us some of his home made apple cider which eased the aches. This is a family farm with a small number of rooms. Alex is passionate about the farming and his local culture. On the plus side- he is a hospitable man with a great energy. The whole guesthouse/restaurant is an organic family-run endeavor. The steak dinner was outrageously delicious. Forget the Michelin star places and come here for the best T bone. On the minus side - the room was kinda musty and tired. The bed was too small. Overall we were pleased to have this experience.

Picture of room on property website with nice matrimonial bed and full windows sorely mis-represents the basement room with separate beds we were placed in by innkeeper. Rail with regular trains runs near our half window. Very disappointed that on our anniversary the hotel claimed this room with separate beds was blocked to us and no other options available.

Booked in advance as we were travelling into Spain so thankfully the address is on sat-nav! A lovely homely farmhouse atop one of the high Basque hills frequented by walkers on their way to Santiago. We were greeted by the hostess, shown around the hotel tho' it's more a converted farm so don't expect anything fancy & given welcoming drinks. Enjoyed fabulous views over the coast & the nearby hills, wonderful place to unwind after our long drive through France. Superbly quiet as you can imagine so we slept v.well then had a filling breakfast of local produce in the small dining room. Staying here was a treat, felt more a house guest than in a hotel, well we were the only ones at breakfast tho' we had heard others the previous evening.
