If you’ve ever dreamed of a vacation in paradise, look no further than Hotel La Raposera. Upon arrival, we were welcomed by the charming owner, Ines, who was expecting us. The hotel is housed in a designated historic landmark known as “Casonas de Indianos” and located on an idyllic plot of land. Casonas are large houses found throughout the area. Although a few have been converted into hotels, probably none is as gracefully decorated as La Raposera. From its charmingly appointed glass sunroom, you can enjoy an amazing view of the countryside with the sea peeking in the horizon. The room exudes peace and invites one to enjoy a nice cup of tea while relaxing to the classical music playing in the background. The silence at night is heavenly and conducive to the most relaxing sleep you’ve probably had in a long time. The hotel is tastefully furnished with beautiful antiques, in a stylish country decor, without feeling old and stuffy. The house stands exactly as it was originally built and has been perfectly maintained. The hotel exudes elegance, peace and tranquillity. It’s the perfect place to get away and relax. The breakfast (that’s included) is a veritable feast of locally sourced organic fruits, tomatoes, toast, jams, cold cuts, homemade cakes, coffee and tea all impeccably presented. Hotel La Raposera is a hidden gem. A meticulously appointed and cared for hotel where the attention to detail is evident. I highly recommend you visit Hotel La Raposera. You won’t regret it and probably will leave planning your next visit.

El Babu is a small country hotel on the East coast of Asturias, at the foot of the Sueve mountain range (Babu and Pienzu peaks). It is located in a typical 18th-century Asturian house dating which has been converted into a modern inn or boutique hotel. It El Babu is nestled between the mountains and the beach (0.9 miles from the inn), with spectacular views of the surrounding countryside and the sea.The hotel stands out for the incredible light that enters the building through huge picture windows, avant-garde décor, spacious common areas, a relaxing atmosphere and respect for the environment.
Our gateway to Asturias couldn’t get any better after our stay in El Babu. The staff was super attentive, from offering the last drink when getting ‘home’ late at night, to the perfect, taylor-made, delicious breakfast the next morning. Good size room, with sober decoration, quirky mix of modern furniture and traditional Asturias’ farm houses. Convenient location, close to beautiful beaches and Fitu pike (accessible by car). Short driving distance from the Sella river and a myriad of picturesque villages. Looking forward to go back soon. Absolutely recommended.

This place is not well-advertised, but it doesn't need to be, simply because its restaurant is extremely popular. As such, one could easily miss the place - the entire village, actually - if not knowingly looking for it. The hotel is situated at the west end of a tiny village (Caravia) in Eastern Asturias, between Ribadesella and Colunga. Rooms are extremely clean and breakfast (tostadas & cafe con leche) is included. Prices are very affordable and the bar is lively after 9.30pm. No English spoken, but that is a bonus perhaps. Very friendly people!

Old house from the XIX century, remarked but maintained the original architecture. Sited by the beach.
I was fortunate to get a room despite a last minute booking during a busy time of the year. What struck me was how quiet the place was despite having other guests. Although the breakfast was simple, one special touch was that the milk (to accompany my coffee) came hot; I always find this a special touch. More importantly, the room was clean, functional and nicely done. The beach is a 15 minute walk away. This is a wonderful house and an ideal hideout or quiet getaway.
