Reviewed By pausemotoMy friend and I had the good fortune to have Claire Guinoiseau from this lovely hotel as our guide at Chateau de Chenonceau during our recent visit to the Loire Valley. We are so happy we hired her! Claire’s knowledge and passion for the chateau’s history brought it alive for us and was so much better than showing up and self-touring. She was able to point out so many interesting details that would have been missed without her. Claire was very warm and friendly and had we had a longer stay in the valley we would have liked to hire her for more tours. I highly recommend her services if you are visiting the area! If you are staying at the hotel, do yourself a favor and inquire about her guide services. You will not be disappointed.

In a large park with a lake, this former watermill of the 16th century is carefully restored and represents a haven of peace. The spacious and tastefully decorated rooms, are all equipped with private bathroom (bath or shower and toilet). Antique furniture and warm colors offer you a cocoon where you feel well. The lounge in the former mechanical room of the mill offers kettle, fridge, microwave to prepare drinks or snacks to enjoy in this room, under the trees at the edge of the pond or on the terrace. Breakfast is always a popular time: you can taste the homemade jams, pastry or dessert of the day cooked by your hostess, goat cheese from the region, fruit, etc. .. Spending some days in this wonderful place is unforgettable !
Quaint stay with Incredible Meal
Reviewed By markdF1953CHHusband and wife run accommodations are on a beautiful property. You can sit outside and enjoy a view of their pond. We had a room with two twin beds(least expensive). It was spacious and had a door going outside to the pond area. Bathroom was a little unusual, but certainly adequate. The best part of our stay was the special proprietor’s dinner which must be booked ahead, in our case upon arrival, for the next evening. We enjoyed appetizers and a drink outdoors. Moving indoors we had a three course meal with wine. The owners and another couple sat with us. It was lots of fun! The owners spoke English and did a super job of interpreting for the French guests and us. I would rate this as one of our favorite dinners in France. Please give these new owners a try! Don’t miss out on the special meal opportunity.

Reviewed By xiaoyan SWe were looking for a place to stay near Amboise that doesn't feel like a hotel and this is perfect! Host Nathalie is wonderful. The property is beautifully landscaped, with a heated pool, tennis court and free bikes to use. We rode the bikes with the girls around the property. You can also ride along River Cher if you'd like. The rooms have been remodeled, with view to the river. Just a short drive to the Chateaux nearby. Highly recommend.

We found the atmosphere of this place very relaxed and the hosts were very professional. We were given good guidance on where to go for visits + evening dinner.. all recommendations were good.

Another delightful stay
Reviewed By Elizabeth SA rather belated review that I should have written last May! We were hoping to go again this year but not sure if we will be able to now :( We stayed in the delightful Garden Room again and were warmly welcomed by Dominique and Jean Renaud. Wonderful breakfasts as always. We love the quiet peacefulness of Blere and yet again managed to find different places to visit. We never run out of things to do. Dominique gives excellent advice, as she takes the trouble to visit many places herself and so has a wide knowledge.
