Located within the heart of the Cathar Country, at the gates of the majestic Peaks of the Défilé de la Pierre Lys and the Pyrenees, Karine, Dirk & family would like to welcome you in their romantic B&B. The 5 rooms of Mediterranean style will make your stay comfortable within a calm and beautiful environment. All the rooms are south facing and have their own private bathroom and terrace. There is a garden with BBQ area.
Since 2016 we've been in this outstanding B&B in Belvianes every summer. Everytime it felt like coming home, a little place in the sun. The owners are super friendly and helpfull. We love the breakfast with the eggs, David is great! It is also ideally situated to see the surroundings. From Foix to the sea, it's all easy accesible by large roads. If one day you do not know what to do, Karine will always give a lot of tips about the area. It is also very family friendly, we are a family of 5, and they have 2 rooms that fit us comfortably. The kids love the pool, and the playground is a nice little kidscorner. I have already recommended it to a lot of friends and family, and we even have friends whom we met there. Just go, you won't be dissapointed!

The location is scenic but our stay would have been memorable if only we experienced better hospitality. Here is the story: - I wanted to book a room for my wife and my 2 yrs old son on booking.com. In the website, I was asked who will be coming so I answered me, my wife and our son. Unfortunately, after 3 attempts (30 minutes), booking.com was bugging so I had to call directly. - When I called, I asked for a bedroom. I was a bit tired trying booking the room online and I didn't mention we would come with my son. I wasn't asked either by the female manager on the phone. The manager said she booked the room for us so everything was fine (I thought) - We then arrived at the place. It was nice like in the pictures, so I have nothing bad to say about it. - Soon, after we arrived, the female owner said that the place was not for kids (ok I understand that) and she said it was my fault I didn't tell them. So from that point, I already had this strange feeling that we were not the "good customers" they are used to (basically a couple of old people without kids). I said nothing and acknowledged, hoping that we will not get any more comments like that if we are careful with our kid. - The next day, our son jumped for 10 minutes in the room at 2pm (not at night at all) and we were trying to calm him down. Note that our son does not behave like that at night, and he is rather a very easy child, as our nannies told us. Later, we got a comment from the female owner saying that our son should not jump at night since she was afraid to get bad reviews from the other people in the guest house. I told her it will not happen at night (and it didn't happen at night during the whole stay, moreover our son didn't jump again even during the day). At this time, I thought: Ok our son didn't do anything bad at night, and how about us? Only the other good people coming (as I said old people without kids) are important so their feedbacks are gold but regarding us, no, our stay is not important at all (who cares about parents who are trying their best to make the stay a wonderful moment and respectful???). At this time, I was already starting to feel uncomfortable honestly. But I politely complied. - The next day we went to the nice fresh market of Quillan to buy food for lunch. I bought some lasagna expecting that they will be ready to cook, as it is 99% of the time when you it at the fresh market. Unfortunately, after buying it, I figured out they were frozen and required to be cooked in the oven (it was in an aluminium container). So at this time, I thought that the owners would be annoyed that we ask kindly for their oven. Unfortunately, I was right... My wife asked to heat the lasagna in the oven. Then when she came back with the lasagna, I noticed it was not fully reheated. So I went to the male owner politely asking it to be reheated a bit more. Then he talked to me in a very harsh way (honestly, he made me feel like I was very stupid. He was saying that it should have simply been reheated in the microwave in a plate, but as I said his tone was very rude. And then he said that we could not close the door of our room which was banging, again in a very mean way (I can't recall exactly what he said since with his Brittish accent I took me a few seconds to understand the problem). What actually happened was that my wife who was taking care of my son, took him downstairs to eat and forgot to close the door. I mean when you are a mom dealing with a young boy, it is not easy to do everything perfectly. Again I said sorry to the owner. But I was honestly at this point very pissed and wanted to go back home. - At this point, I told myself if they say something again we will leave the guest house, but it didn't happen. - To sum up: we were terrible customers. Our son jumped for 10 minutes in the bedroom at 2pm and we asked kindly to reheat lasagna. For all these reasons, we were treated very badly. Thanks again. To know more about us, my wife and I have travelled to many places and this is not our first guesthouse experience. I have never ever received any bad comments in my life. I just am disappointed with this experience since I expected to have an enjoyable break in our busy life as young parents and have a peaceful family moment in the Pyrenees. For all these reasons, I do not recommend this place especially if you have young children. The managers seem to be nice with the "good customers", but they can be mean if you don't fit to their expectations. Basically if you are out of their routine customers.

L'Envolee (formerly "Nostalgie"), a bed and breakfast recently taken over by Michele, is a large stone house at the entrance of Belvianes et Cavirac, a small village in Aude. This village is located between the Mediterranean and the mountain. This very bright guesthouse, full of charm, has a light and cheerful atmosphere given by Michele who speaks six languages and will welcome you warmly.
We stopped one night here during our vacation. The owner received us warmly and she can speak multiple languages, which is very helpful. We got a comfortable room with separated for the child, perfectly clean and beautiful view from the window. Breakfast included, served in a lovely dining room, with broad choice and well enough quantity. Overall, 80€ for two adults and one child. It's is a pity we stayed only one day. Absolutely recommended!

Four bedroom private B&B sitting in two acres of an enclosed private park on the banks of the river Aude just 4km south of Quillan and halfway between Perpignan and Carcassonne airports. There is a free secured carpark within the grounds adjacent to the house. We are in the middle of Cathar country surrounded by the castles and the area is also famous for it's wines, walking, water sports (rafting etc), fishing and cycling. We offer evening meals and a reduction if you book half board. In the summer months breakfast and evening meals are served on our terrace with the river Aude 50m away and the Pyrenees mountains in the background. It is very peaceful and quiet here, an ideal place to unwind and 'recharge your batteries'. PLEASE NOTE WE DO NOT ACCEPT CHILDREN UNDER 14 YEARS.
Stayed two nights in small upstairs room with evening meal. Cheapest we could find and very clean. Good breakfast and the evening meals were good as well. If you want a proper meal then it is cheaper to eat in.
